  • Patent number: 10344959
Abstract: A light comprises: a light body and a light source supported by the light body; and a tail cap assembly including one or more actuators configured for actuating one or more electrical switch contacts internal to the light body for energizing the light source. The tail cap assembly may include a housing shell defining one or more cantilevered supports extending from the housing shell with the one or more actuators at respective ends thereof. The tail cap assembly may further include a resilient material for sealing the housing shell while leaving the actuators flexibly cantilevered. Alternatively and/or additionally, the light may include a mode selecting face cap that is rotatable on the light body for selecting operating modes, including OFF, and or a laser light source having two adjusting screws at an acute angle to each other.

  • Patent number: 10326292
Abstract: A method for charging a battery may comprise: setting an initial low charge current level; repetitively interrupting charging in a periodic cycle, and: measuring an open circuit battery voltage when charging is interrupted, determining from the open circuit battery voltage a corresponding predetermined charging current; applying the predetermined charging current; and repeating the periodic cycle. A method may also comprise: setting an initial charge current level, measuring the supply voltage, and decreasing the charge current level if the measured supply voltage is less than a predetermined voltage.

  • Patent number: 10001343
Abstract: A lighting circuit includes a controllable electronic device in series with a power terminal of a controller, wherein operation of a switch causes the controller to maintain the electronic device conductive, whereby the controller then remains powered; and wherein the controller responds to a subsequent operation of the switch to render the electronic device nonconductive, whereby the controller is then unpowered even when electrical power is received. The lighting circuit is suitable for use, e.g., in a portable or other battery powered light.
