  • Patent number: 10499561
Abstract: A system includes a boom. The boom includes a first section and a second section. The system includes a first actuator element configured to drive rotation of the first section, a second actuator element configured to drive rotation of the second section, and a locking element configured to block rotation of the first section and to block rotation of the second section while the locking element is in an activated position. Moreover, the system includes a sensor element disposed on the boom. The sensor element is configured to output a signal indicative of a first height between the first section and a field and a second height between the second section and the field. The first and second sections are configured to independently rotate based on the received signal to maintain a desired height between the field and each of the first section and the second section.

  • Patent number: 9661801
Abstract: A system and method of automatically adjusting an amount of agricultural granular material delivered to a field in response to vehicle steering activities. The system includes a sensor that is associated with a steering system of a vehicle configured to apply the material to a field. The sensor is connected to a controller that is configured to determine a deviation value associated with discrete turning activities. The controller is configured to manipulate operation of a first commodity delivery system and a second commodity delivery system such that different amounts of the agricultural material can be delivered to alternate lateral sides of the vehicle in response to turning activities.

  • Patent number: 8833680
Abstract: A plugged nozzle monitoring system uses a thermal flow sensor located within a spray nozzle of an agricultural sprayer. The thermal flow sensor is free of moving parts and is made of corrosion-resistant materials. The thermal flow sensor is placed within the fluid flow path through the nozzle and activates an alarm if flow through the nozzle falls below the baseline value.

  • Patent number: 8464907
Abstract: Level sensors for a metering system container are provided that facilitate determining material level within the container despite dusty or damp conditions. In an exemplary embodiment, a material metering system includes a first sensor assembly disposed within a lower portion of the container and a second sensor assembly disposed within an upper portion of the container. Each sensor assembly is configured to output a signal indicative of contact with the material. The material metering system also includes a controller communicatively coupled to the first and second sensor assemblies and configured to engage a transfer of material to the container in response to the signal from the first sensor assembly indicative of contact with the material and to disengage the transfer of material to the container in response to the signal from the second sensor assembly indicative of contact with the material.
