  • Patent number: 9295325
Abstract: A workstation table having a first panel, a second panel, a support member, and a first deforming mechanism is disclosed. The first deforming mechanism is coupled to the first panel and the support member, and includes a first deformable member. The first panel has a first top surface and a first outer edge, and the second panel has a second top surface and a second outer edge. When a force is applied to a first outer edge, the first deforming mechanism causes deformation of the first permanently deformable member, and causes the first panel to move from a first configuration to a second configuration. In the first configuration, the first top surface and the second top surface occupy substantially parallel planes, and in the second configuration the first top surface and the second top surface do not occupy substantially parallel planes.

  • Patent number: 6719366
Abstract: A passenger seat having a walk-over seat back mounted for movement on a pair of rotatable shafts through a pair of of levers mounted on each end of the shafts. The levers contact each other at opposite seat positions to support the seat back. The pair of shafts include a torsion section at each end portion capable of undergoing plastic deformation upon a lock mechanism detecting predetermined deceleration forces. A lever and link element are operatively connected between the seat cushion frame to permit movement. The seat cushion is removable secured to the seat cushion frame.

  • Publication number: 20020153756
Abstract: A frameless rail passenger seat having support members acting as sole support of the seat cushion frame and the seat back frame and being secured to the floor of a passenger rail car. The seat back frame is mounted on a pair of rotatably mounted shafts to allow the seat back to assume two opposing seat positions. A pair of link members are operatively connected to the pair of shafts and pivotally attached to the seat cushion frame, and have cam surfaces to engage a cam follower. Pins on the link members contact link members for support of one link member in each of the two seat positions.

  • Patent number: 6179375
Abstract: A railroad passenger walk-over seat having a seat back capable of being rotated into opposed positions. A locking mechanism having engaging locking elements and a lock member to arrest movement of the seat back during forces created by abrupt deceleration. The deceleration force is dissipated by a shaft section that undergoes plastic deformation.
