  • Patent number: 5454261
Abstract: A hemming machine and method of operating the machine is presented in which a work supporting anvil is vertically positioned and driven in an impact stroke by an electric servo motor. A compound flanging and hemming die is mounted on a carriage for horizontal movement into and out of alignment with the anvil for successive formation of a flange and impacting the flange into a finished hem.

  • Patent number: 4849911
Abstract: A method for inputting data representing an engineering drawing to a computer aided design system. The method comprises the steps of creating the engineering drawing on quadrille paper or graph paper having criss-crossing lines. After creation of the drawing, the drawing is scanned by an optical reader which produces an electrical output signal representative of the drawing data. This output signal is electrically connected as an input signal to the computer aided design system. When editing the drawing, a computer generated grid pattern corresponding in scale to the criss crossing lines on the quadrille paper is superimposed on a video monitor of the computer aided design system thereby facilitating editing of the drawing on the computer aided design system.

  • Patent number: 4625351
Abstract: A frame for a waterbed having a standard thickness or height when inflated. The frame includes a stand positioned on the ground and a rectangular planar support member which is secured to the top of the stand so that the upper surface of the support member is substantially horizontal. A planar adapter having both a rectangular outer periphery and a rectangular inner periphery is secured to the top of the support member so that the outer periphery of the adapter is flush with the outer periphery of the support member. A sheet of insulation is contained within the inner periphery of the adapter and the thickness of the sheet is the same as the thickness or height of the adapter so that the top surface of the adapter and insulation sheet are on the same plane with each other. A standard rail assembly is secured to the top of the adapter so that the rail assembly protrudes upwardly from around the outer periphery of the adapter by an amount equal to the standard thickness of the waterbed balloon.
