  • Patent number: 9716876
Abstract: A device may include a digital camera that includes a stereo camera pair of a first camera and a second camera, and a system control that is capable of turning the first camera and the second camera on and off separately. Additionally, the device may include a processor to receive a first image via the first camera, and detect a scene type associated with the first image. The device may also determine whether the scene type is amenable to stereo capture and perform parallax difference detection to detect whether the first image is capable of being resolved correctly. The device may perform stereo image capture of the first image and the second image via the stereo camera pair in response to a determination that the first image is capable of being resolved correctly.

  • Publication number: 20170124196
Abstract: A prioritized list of items available via an electronic user device is provided to a user. The user has relations categorized in a social graph for which activity is crawled to detect interactive behavior with objects made by the relations via respective electronic devices. The prioritizing includes identifying items for the list; determining a relative level of the user's contextual affinity with one or more of the list items, contextual affinity to a list item characterized by connectedness of a context of the user's current use of the electronic user device to a manner in which a relation has had interactive behavior with one of the objects that corresponds to the list item; and ranking the list items according to the relative levels of affinity.

  • Patent number: 9570106
Abstract: On the basis of a first configuration of one or more imaging sensors, first video data is captured at a first frame rate and a first resolution and second video data is captured at a second frame rate and a second resolution. The second frame rate is higher than the first frame rate and the second resolution is lower than the first resolution. Further, an amount of motion is detected in the captured second video data. On the basis of the detected amount of motion, the at least one imaging sensor is switched to a second configuration. On the basis of the second configuration, third video data is captured at a third frame rate and a third resolution. The third frame rate is higher than the first frame rate and the third resolution is higher than the second resolution.

  • Patent number: 9560287
Abstract: A sequence of multiple subimages is captured by an imaging sensor organized in multiple subsets of pixels. Each of the subsets of pixels is assigned to capturing a corresponding one of the subimages. For each of the subsets of pixels, a noise level of an output of the pixels of the subset is measured. Depending on the measured noise level, an exposure time for capturing the corresponding subimage is controlled.

  • Patent number: 9554107
Abstract: A method and apparatus for recording a composite image from a lens array are disclosed. A first composite image is recorded using a first lens providing imaging data in a first color, a second lens providing imaging data in a second color, and a third lens providing imaging data in a third color, wherein the first, second, and third colors are different colors. A second composite image is recorded using the first lens, a fourth lens providing imaging data in the second color, and a fifth lens providing imaging data in the third color. The first and second composite images are compared to identify color fringed areas. Based on the relative size and location of the color fringed areas in the first and second composite images, a de-fringing algorithm is applied to at least one of the composite images to mitigate the color fringing in the color fringed areas.

  • Patent number: 9418043
Abstract: A method is disclosed of utilizing a plurality of Arithmetic Logic Units (ALUs) of an array processor. It is determined that a first quantity of the ALUs are scheduled to execute a function during a given processing cycle, with each ALU being scheduled to use a respective one of a plurality of selected input vectors as an input. It is also determined that a second quantity of the ALUs are not scheduled for use during the given processing cycle. A plurality of predicted future input vectors that differ from the plurality of selected input vectors are determined. The second quantity of ALUs are scheduled to execute the function during the given processing cycle using respective ones of the plurality of predicted future input vectors as inputs. After completion of the processing cycle, function outputs received from the first and second quantity of ALUs are cached.
