  • Patent number: 8980062
Abstract: An industrial fabric, belt or sleeve and a method of making the fabric, belt or sleeve are disclosed. The industrial fabric, belt or sleeve is produced by spirally winding strips of polymeric material, such as an industrial strapping or ribbon material, around two rolls in a side-to-side manner in which a gap between adjacent edges is formed. A second material, for example a gap filler material, is placed between the adjacent edges, and the adjoining edges are joined by melting the filler material, strips of polymeric material, or both. The gap filler material can have a specific cross-sectional shape corresponding to the gap.

  • Patent number: 8861388
Abstract: A method and apparatus for a cellular system is provided. Communication is carried out between a controlling station of a cell and a number of users in said cell, and the controlling station is equipped with a plurality of antennas. The communication can alter between a first and a second mode, and the users in the cell provide the controlling station with feedback information regarding their reception quality. The controlling station alters between said first and second modes of communication as a result of the reliability of the feedback information from the users in the cell, so that if the reliability is above a first threshold, the first mode is used, and if the reliability is equal to or below said first threshold, the second mode is used.

  • Patent number: 8822009
Abstract: A support member such as a belt or sleeve includes a topographical pattern on its sheet contact side. A plurality of land areas, corresponding depressions, through voids, and/or groove areas are formed on the top surface of the support member to produce the topographical pattern. The land areas, corresponding depressions, through voids, and/or groove areas may be formed by graving, cutting, etching, embossing, mechanical perforation or a combination thereof. The improved belt or sleeve imparts desired physical characteristics, such as bulk, appearance, texture, absorbency, strength, and hand to a nonwoven product produced thereon.

  • Patent number: 8764943
Abstract: An industrial fabric, belt or sleeve and a method of making the fabric, belt or sleeve are disclosed. The industrial fabric, belt or sleeve is produced by spirally winding strips of polymeric material, such as an industrial strapping or ribbon material, and joining the adjoining sides of the strips of material using ultrasonic welding or laser welding techniques. The fabric, belt or sleeve may then be perforated using a suitable technique to make it permeable to air and/or water.

  • Patent number: 8754884
Abstract: Embodiments described herein are directed to generating a variable data image using a variable data image generator. The variable data image generator assigns a variable identifier to a specified location in a 3D scene to identify the specified location as being variable and populate the 3D scene with a component at the specified location based on the variable identifier and in response to a predefined populating rule. The predefined populating rule is applied based on an attribute of a recipient for which a static image of the 3D scene is to be generated. The component is selected and inserted at the specified location in accordance with the populating rule and with a perspective substantially matching a perspective of the specified location. The variable data generator outputs the static image of the 3D scene for the recipient, wherein the static image includes the component.

  • Patent number: 8599948
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and arrangement for symbol mapping in wireless communication systems utilizing OFDM transmission technology in combination with advanced coding schemes. In the method according to the present invention, adapted for use in a wireless communication system utilizing OFDM transmission technology, an OFDM grid is defined by at least a first dimension and a second dimensions from the dimensions time, frequency or space. The advanced coding scheme, for example Alamouti coding, outputs symbols that are related via the coding. At least some of the symbols, defining a code related symbol group should experience identical, or at least very similar, radio channels. According to one embodiment of the present invention, symbols from the same code related symbol group is placed as close together in the OFDM grid as possible.
