  • Publication number: 20200054393
Abstract: Various catheters with expandable and contractible fluid pathways extending therethrough, and methods of use, are provided herein. In an exemplary embodiment, a catheter is provided with an elongate body having an electrode at the distal end thereof. One or more expandable members or wings can extend between the electrode and the distal end of the elongate body. The catheter can also include an actuator extending therethrough and coupled to the electrode such that movement of the actuator is effective to advance and retract the electrode, thereby moving the one or more expandable members between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration. The catheter can also include a fluid sealed lumen formed therein and configured to receive fluid and to deliver fluid to one or more pathways formed in the electrode. The actuator can extend through the fluid sealed lumen, however it can be fluidly separated from the lumen.

  • Patent number: 10559345
Abstract: A decoder is disclosed that is used to select an area of address space in an Integrated Circuit. The decoder uses a hardware shifting module that performs shift operations on constants. Such a structure reduces an overall area consumption of the shifting module. Additionally, the decoder can perform a multi-bit shift operation in a single clock cycle.

  • Publication number: 20190131016
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate generally to non-invasive methods and diagnostic tests that measure biomarkers (e.g., tumor antigens), clinical parameters and computer-implemented machine learning methods, apparatuses, systems, and computer-readable media for assessing a likelihood that a patient with radiographic apparent pulmonary nodules are malignant as compared to benign, relative to a patient population or a cohort population. By utilizing algorithms generated from the biomarker levels (e.g., tumor antigens) from large volumes of longitudinal or prospectively collected blood samples (e.g., real world data from one or more regions where blood based tumor biomarker cancer screening is commonplace) together with one or more clinical parameters (e.g. age, smoking history, disease signs or symptoms) a risk level of that patient having malignant pulmonary nodules is provided.

  • Patent number: 9991176
Abstract: Advanced interconnect technologies such as Through Silicon Vias (TSVs) have become an integral part of 3-D integration. Methods and systems and provided for laser-based acoustic techniques in which a short laser pulse generates broadband acoustic waves that propagate in the TSV structure. An optical interferometer detects the surface displacement caused by the acoustic waves reflecting within the structure as well as other acoustic waves traveling near the surface that has information about the structure dimensions and irregularities, such as voids. Features of voids, such as their location, are also identified based on the characteristics of the acoustic wave as it propagates through the via. Measurements typically take few seconds per site and can be easily adopted for in-line process monitoring.

In one embodiment, a classifier is generated using a machine learning system based on training data from retrospective data and subset of inputs (e.g. at least two biomarkers and at least one clinical parameter), wherein each input has an associated weight and the classifier meets a predetermined Receiver Operator Characteristic (ROC) statistic, specifying a sensitivity and a specificity, for correct classification of patients.

  • Patent number: 9911967
Abstract: An electric or hybrid vehicle including an arrangement of mechanisms introducing an extinguishing fluid into a battery pack, especially a drive battery, of the vehicle. A first port is placed in a wall of the pack and provides access to an interior of the pack, the first port including a partial or total blocking mechanism being removable or meltable under effect of temperature. A second port is placed in an element of a body of the vehicle facing the first port. Extinguishing fluid may be introduced into the pack through two ports once the blocking mechanism of the first port has been removed or melted.

  • Patent number: 9560977
Abstract: The systems and methods described herein enable reliable estimation of cardiovascular indices on real-time, non-invasive or minimally-invasive, and beat-to-beat basis. Cardiovascular indices which can be estimated include: stroke volume (SV), which being limited to, cardiac output (CO) and total peripheral resistance (TPR). In various embodiments, one or more of these indices are estimated continuously, on a beat-to-beat basis, using peripheral arterial blood pressure (ABP) waveforms and certain parameters derived from the peripheral ABP waveforms. The derived parameters are substantially insensitive to distortions of the ABP waveform arising from tapered arterial branches throughout the arterial tree. The methods describe herein can provide a more accurate and reliable estimate of hemodynamic parameters than existing techniques.

  • Publication number: 20150076187
Abstract: A shell can be conformally disposed over at least a majority of a backside of the housing of an electronic device of interest. By one approach this shell comprises, at least in part, a plastic interior and an antimicrobial metal exterior that covers at least a majority portion of the backside of the electronic device. The shell can be configured, for example, to snap-fit onto such a housing to thereby secure the shell in place during use and transit.
