    Abstract: A scaffolding tube clamp having a pair of body portions defining a top and a base that are hinged together and receivable about a scaffolding tube. A rotatable bolt is received through a hole in the top a hole in the base portion. The bolt has a lower end with engagement means to releasably secure the bolt to the base. The bolt's head has a lower surface that is engageable with a surface on the top. The lower surface of the head, and the surface of the top that is engaged thereby, have complimentary ramped configurations such that when the bolt is rotated the ramps engage, resulting in the ramps moving the top toward the base. In an alternate embodiment the bolt is threaded with two sets of threads that have different diameters and different pitches and that are threadably received within the holes in the top and bottom.

    Abstract: A safety fence comprising a first and a second post. An upper rail is securable to upright members of the first post and the second post in a horizontally orientation. A mesh has an upper end slidably coupled to the upper rail. The mesh has a retracted configuration where it is collapsed and retained next to the first post, and a deployed configuration where it is extended between the first and second posts in a taut configuration. At least one tensioning member has a first end fixed to the first post and is releasably securable to the second post such that the tensioning member may be tensioned between the first and second posts. The tensioning member, when tensioned between the first and second posts with the mesh in its deployed configuration, provides horizontal load support to the mesh.

    Abstract: A grab plate assembly for retaining an inner cylindrical tube in a fixed telescopic position relative to an outer cylindrical tube in a telescoping post. The assembly comprises a grab plate having a polygonal tube receiving opening therein, a lever arm integral with and angled relative to the grab plate, and an actuating rod. Turning the actuating rod in a first direction lifts the lever arm causing multiple side edges of the tube receiving opening to compressively engage multiple points on the inner cylindrical tube thereby resisting telescopic movement of the inner cylindrical tube relative to the outer cylindrical tube. Turning the actuating rod in a second opposite direction lowers the lever arm causing the side edges of the tube receiving opening to disengage from the inner cylindrical tube and to permit telescopic movement of the inner cylindrical tube relative to the outer cylindrical tube.

The fence comprises one or more support posts securable to a surface of the floor, and a fence panel rotatably mounted to the one or more support posts. When in the deployed position the fence panel is generally vertically oriented and positioned adjacent to the edge of the floor of the building to provide edge protection. The safety net has a first netting support secured to a plurality of floor engaging portions, each having a support arm rotatably attached thereto; a second netting support secured to the support arms; and netting, spanning said the netting supports such that rotation of the support arms causes the netting to move between a deployed and a stowed configuration. Each support arm has a brace. When the netting is deployed the brace extends between the support arm and its respective floor engaging portion such that a vertical load applied to the netting is at least partially transmitted by the brace from the support arm to its respective floor engaging portion, and a floor structure to which it is secured, to resist the netting moving to its stowed configuration.

Each of the claws has a number of sharp penetrating points for engagement with a supporting surface. The shaft has a free end which is threaded along at least a portion of its length. The first longitudinally extending telescoping tube has an internal nut for threaded engagement with the shaft. The ceiling engaging end is coupled to the second telescoping tube. The over-center locking lever assembly fixes the relative position of the first and second telescoping tubes.

Actuation will cause the movable mating portion to slide relative to the static mating portion and apply radial pressure at the grip end of the anchor bolt assembly remote from the actuating end. The grip end has a roughened surface on the static mating portion while the movable mating portion is smooth. The anchor bolt assembly is particularly suitable for use in tapered holes formed in concrete.

    Abstract: A clamp for securement to a cylindrical body such as scaffold tubing has first and second curved body portions hinged to each other to form a generally circular enclosure. A clasp for coupling the first and second curved body portions has a bolt fixed to one curved body portion and a rotatable housing. The housing has a peripheral groove to slidingly receive the bolt and is coupled to the other curved body portion. The housing has an access opening to receive the bolt into the peripheral groove and the bolt is captured in the peripheral groove when the housing is rotated. The housing is rotatable about a post which is fixed to the other curved body portion and has an opening to receive the post that is eccentric to the geometric center of the housing so that a passage formed between the peripheral groove and the post varies in width about the periphery of the housing. This variable width allows the housing to be tightened gradually on the bolt.
