  • Patent number: 6353754
Abstract: An epileptiform activity patient template creation system is provided which permits the user to efficiently develop an optimized set of patient specific parameters for epileptiform activity detection algorithms. The epileptiform activity patient template creation system is primarily directed to a computer software package which operates within a computer workstation having a processor, disk storage and display for storing, processing and displaying patient EEG signals. The computer processor in conjunction with the software package allows for the marking of the initiation/termination of electrographic seizures within the patient's displayed EEG signals. Epileptiform activity segments are extracted from at least one of the EEG signals with the activity segments including a marked initiation of a seizure. Subsequently, a seizure data set simultaneously displaying a number of the epileptiform activity segments is shown on the display monitor.

  • Patent number: 6069941
Abstract: Access by a subscriber (12) to a fee-based service is managed so that the subscriber, when qualified, receives the service. If the subscriber is found unqualified, then the subscriber is prompted to enter qualifying information, either in the form of the identity of a purchased product, or a bank credit card number. Once the subscriber is qualified, then the subscriber receives the service in the same manner as if he or she were initially found qualified.

  • Patent number: 6058250
Abstract: A method is disclosed for providing an enhanced level of security for sensitive or proprietary information associated with information transactions in a public network, such as the Internet. In carrying out that method, an on-line information transaction is bifurcated between a generalized information access portion of such a transaction and an exchange of sensitive user information. With such a bifurcation, the generalized information access portion of the transaction, which generally would constitute the more substantial (in terms of network resources) portion of the transaction, would be handled via a non-secure network, usually a public network such as the Internet. The portion of the transaction involving sensitive user information, on the other hand, would be handled by a separate secure connection, such as a private network, or intranetwork.
