Patent number: 11946722Abstract: A detector for detecting the removal and/or insertion of a weapon out of and/or into a holster. The detector may transmit a message each time the weapon is removed from the holster. A recording system may receive the message and determine whether or not it will begin recording the data it captures. A detector may detect the change in a magnitude of an inductance and/or an impedance of a circuit to detect insertion and removal of the weapon into and out of the holster. The holster is configured to couple to the detector to position the detector to detect insertion and removal of the weapon. An adhesive tape may couple a detector to a holster.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 2023Date of Patent: April 2, 2024Assignee: Axon Enterprise, Inc.Inventors: Daniel Joseph Wagner, Nache D. Shekarri, Jonathan R. Hatcher, John W. Wilson, Andrew G. Terajewicz, Lucas Kraft, Brian Piquette, Zachary B. Williams, Elliot William Weber, Jason W. Haensly

Publication number: 20170005448Abstract: A flush and fill tool is configured for releasable mating engagement with a bulkhead mounted connector unit which has an optical contact chamber containing optical fluid. The unit has an outer shell with an open forward end containing a seal assembly designed for sealed engagement with a corresponding seal assembly at the forward end of the mating connector unit. An optical fluid fill reservoir and a capture reservoir for used optical fluid located in the housing are associated with a fill pin and a return pin, respectively, which extend through aligned bores in the seal assemblies into the optical contact chamber in the mated condition. A spring loaded plunger engaged in the fill reservoir injects optical fluid from the fill reservoir through a passageway through the fill pin and into the optical contact chamber, ejecting used oil from the chamber through a passageway in the return pin into the capture reservoir.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 2, 2015Publication date: January 5, 2017Inventors: Corey C. Williams, Jonathan R. Hatcher

Patent number: 9246261Abstract: An underwater rolling seal connector assembly has releasably mateable connector units with one or more rolling seals mounted in front faces of units. The rolling seals are rotatable back and forth between a closed position sealing one or more chambers within the respective units which contain one or more contacts and an open position in which bores through the seals are open to allow contacts in one unit to pass through the seal openings and engage contact in the other unit. A shell of one connector unit has inwardly facing cam formations and each rolling seal has outwardly directed eccentric rotators configured for engagement with respective cam formations on mating and de-mating of the connector units, whereby travel of the respective rotators along the respective cam formations during mating and de-mating rotates the rolling seals into the open and closed positions, respectively.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2014Date of Patent: January 26, 2016Assignee: Teledyne Instruments, Inc.Inventors: Jonathan R. Hatcher, William S. Taylor, Justin M. Kretschmar, Nicholas E. Hill
