  • Patent number: 6865981
Abstract: A pump having a diaphragm positioned within a diaphragm housing comprised of an air cap and a fluid cap. The air cap and fluid cap include inner surfaces that cooperate to define a diaphragm chamber in which the diaphragm moves between a withdrawn deformed position and an extended deformed position. The inner surfaces of the air cap and fluid cap are designed to fully accommodate the movement of the diaphragm between its withdrawn deformed position and an extended deformed position. Finite element analysis is used to estimate the diaphragm's withdrawn deformed position and an extended deformed position.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 11, 2003
Date of Patent: March 15, 2005
    Assignee: Ingersoll-Rand Company

  • Patent number: 6619316
Abstract: A packing assembly, retrofit kit, and check valve with adjustable lift having a ball stop member having opposed first and second contact portions and at least two washers being provided in a stacking configuration. The stacking configuration is one selected from one in which all of the at least two washers are stacked against the first contact portion of the ball stop member, one in which all of the at least two washers are stacked against the second contact portion of the ball stop member, and one in which at least one of the at least two washers is stacked against the first contact portion of the ball stop member and at least one of the at least two washers is stacked against the second contact portion of the ball stop member. Preferably, the at least two washers are of different thicknesses with, more preferably, the thicknesses of the at least two washers being multiples of each other.

  • Patent number: 6558141
Abstract: A packing assembly for sealing a space between a pump plunger and a pump body of a reciprocating plunger pump with a plunger having a pumping end with an outer perimeter. At least one seal is disposed around the pumping end of the plunger and a securing member having a first end capable of attachment to the pumping end of the plunger. A second end having a flange with an outer perimeter greater than the outer perimeter of the pumping end of the plunger is also provided, such that when the first end of the securing member is attached to the pumping end of the plunger, the second end maintains the at least one seal disposed around the pumping end of the plunger.
