  • Patent number: 11911339
Abstract: A cap assembly universally structured for protectively enclosing differently dimensioned and configured additive ports of an IV container and including a housing, which may include a variably dimensioned interior, structured to receive the additive port therein, in an operative position. A cover is disposed in covering relation to the housing interior and a retaining structure is disposed within the housing in retaining engagement with the additive port. A closure structure is disposed on the housing in an attached orientation, structured to be resistant to detachment, concurrent to the operative position of the additive port within the housing. The operative position further includes the retaining structure disposed in retaining engagement with the additive port on the interior of the housing, concurrent to the attached orientation of said closure structure.

  • Patent number: 11904149
Abstract: A closure assembly for a syringe or other medical administering device includes an outer sleeve having an access opening and a tip cap removably disposed therein. The tip cap includes a flow restrictor structured for removable, flow restricting connection to the syringe. An indicator member is removably connected within the outer sleeve, in interruptive relation to passage of the tip cap through the access opening. A retaining structure is fixedly connected to the flow restrictor and movable therewith relative to the indicator member. The retaining structure and flow restrictor are collectively structured for retaining engagement of the tip cap with the indicator member, as the tip and indicator member are concurrently removed from the outer sleeve and as the tip cap is disconnected from the flow restricting connection with the syringe.

  • Patent number: 11872187
Abstract: A tamper evident seal structure for a vial septum or other cover having a housing including a sidewall terminating in oppositely disposed open and closed ends. A retainer is fixedly disposed within the housing and structured for retaining engagement with a portion of a vial, substantially adjacent the vial cover. The housing also includes a pressure member disposed within an interior thereof in attached, relation to the closed-end. The pressure member and the retainer are cooperatively disposed and structured to respectively exert pressure on the vial cover concurrent to retaining engagement with the vial. Tamper evident capabilities are at least partially defined by a detachment of a removable sidewall section from a remainder of said sidewall.

  • Patent number: 11697527
Abstract: A closure assembly for a medical container having a sleeve with a tip cap disposed therein in an accessible position relative to an access opening. A cover is fixedly secured to one end of said sleeve, opposite to said access opening and a retainer is fixedly secured within the sleeve, adjacent the cover and in a removably retaining engagement with the tip cap. The removably retaining engagement includes the retainer having one or more segments disposed in retaining engagement with an exterior of the tip cap. Upon detachment of the tip cap from the retainer and the removal thereof from the sleeve, the one or more segments are separable from one another and/or a remainder of the retainer, while being maintained in a captured position within the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 11523970
Abstract: A shield for a port closure of a medical container includes housing comprising two movably connected housing segments, each having a hollow interior and an open end, movable between open and closed orientations. A lock assembly is structured to define a fixed locked connection between the housing segments in the closed orientation and includes first and second lock members connected within different ones of the housing segments in a non-accessible location when the housing segments are in the closed orientation. A retainer is disposed within the housing in a capturing orientation relative to the closure therein, concurrent to the closed orientation. A latch assembly is connected to the housing segments and structured to retain said housing segments in said closed orientation, independently of and concurrently with the fixed locked connection of the lock assembly.

  • Patent number: 11357588
Abstract: An assembly, for packaging and safely disposing of a needle structure, including a housing having at least one containment structure. The containment structure includes a hinge movably interconnecting a base and a needle retaining segment, between open and closed orientations. The retaining segment includes a compartment removably containing the needle structure therein and the base includes a chamber for reception of the compartment and medical needle therein, when in the closed orientation. The hinge normally biases the retaining segment and compartment outwardly at substantially a predetermined angular orientation relative to said base, in the open orientation, to facilitate access to the medical needle through an access opening in the compartment. A closure is fixedly connected to and movable with both the base and the retaining segment and is structured to removably secure said housing in said closed orientation.

  • Patent number: 10315024
Abstract: A closure assembly includes torque limit capabilities facilitating the attachment thereof to a medical connector with sufficient tightness to establish a flow stopping or sealing relation with the medical connector. A housing includes a stop member fixed on the interior thereof and rotatable there with into interruptive engagement with a movement restrictor connected to and movable with a closure cap which includes a flow restrictor. Application of a tightening force to the housing will cause rotation of the stop member into interruptive engagement with the movement restrictor and connected flow restrictor causing forced rotation of the flow restrictor onto attachment with the medical connector, while establishing a predetermined tightness.

  • Patent number: 9402967
Abstract: The tamper evident cap assembly is structured for protective connection to a syringe of the type having a nozzle and a discharge port, wherein the cap assembly includes a body configured to receive and restrict access to the nozzle. A flow restricting member is connected to the body in flow restricting relation to the discharge port of the nozzle. An attachment assembly interconnects the body and the flow restricting member and is structured to facilitate detachment of the body from the flow restricting member upon the body being removed from the syringe. A connecting assembly is mounted on the flow restricting member and is structured to be connected to a syringe nozzle by a linearly directed, snap-fit, “push-on” action, and to be disconnected therefrom by a “rotate-off” action.

  • Patent number: 8864708
Abstract: A closure assembly structured for use with a female luer connector operative to indicate an attempted tampering or access thereto. A flow restrictor is movably and removably disposed within a housing and includes a male connector, such as a male luer connector, inserted in flow restricting engagement within an interior port of the female luer connector. An indicator member is removably connected within the housing and a drive assembly associated with both the flow restrictor and the housing is operable to dispose the male connector in flow restricting engagement within the female connector. Attempted removal of the closure assembly from the female connector will detach an indicator member from the housing and visually expose it, thereby indicating attempted access.

  • Patent number: 8864707
Abstract: A closure assembly structured for use with a female luer connector and operative to indicate an accomplished or attempted tampering thereof. A connector cover is movably and removably disposed within a housing and includes an interior chamber disposed and structured to receive an access port of the female connector. An indicator member is removably connected to an interior of the housing in surrounding relation to the connector cover and a drive assembly associated with both the connector cover and the housing is operable to concurrently rotate and axially advance the interior chamber into enclosing relation to the access port. Attempted removal of the housing from the female connector, such as by an applied axial force to the housing, will detach the indicated member from the housing and dispose it in a visually observable position surrounding the connector cover, thereby indicating attempted access.

  • Patent number: 8348895
Abstract: The tamper evident cap assembly is structured for protective connection to a syringe of the type having a nozzle and a discharge port, wherein the cap assembly includes a body configured to receive and access to the nozzle. A flow restricting member is connected to the body to at least initially define a one piece construction. The flow restricting member is disposed in flow restricting relation to the discharge port of the nozzle. An attachment assembly interconnects the body and the flow restricting member and is structured, such as by being frangible to facilitate detachment of the body from the flow restricting member upon the body being removed from the syringe. A connecting assembly is structured for a snap-fit connection to the nozzle and retains the flow restricting member thereon upon removal of the body from the syringe.
