  • Publication number: 20130044947
Abstract: Various embodiments of methods and apparatus for facial retouching are disclosed. In one embodiment, a face in an input image is detected. Independent sets of feature points are detected for respective facial feature components. A plurality of masks for each of the facial feature components is generated. Using the plurality of masks, retouch effects are performed to the facial feature components. Some embodiments provide for user interaction to constrain the mask generation.

  • Publication number: 20130044958
Abstract: Various embodiments of methods and apparatus for facial retouching are disclosed. In one embodiment, a face in an input image is detected. One or more transformation parameters for the detected face are estimated based on a profile model. The profile model is applied to obtain a set of feature points for each facial component of the detected face. Global and component-based shape models are applied to generate feature point locations of each facial component of the detected face.

  • Patent number: 8054170
Abstract: A method, system, and computer-readable storage medium for characterizing and representing images. A plurality of feature descriptors for a plurality of images are received, where each feature descriptor encodes a respective feature in an image, and where each feature descriptor is transformed into a plurality of sub-descriptors in accordance with a specified transformation scheme. The feature descriptors correspond to an image feature descriptor space for the plurality of images, and the sub-descriptors correspond to a plurality of subspaces of the image feature descriptor space, where the plurality of subspaces span the image feature descriptor space. Each subspace of the plurality of subspaces is quantized using cluster analysis applied to the sub-descriptors, thereby determining a respective one or more feature primitives for each subspace, where the feature primitives are useable to characterize image features.

  • Patent number: 7773829
Abstract: Image-centric rulers are described, including a method comprising detecting a position of a pointer relative to an image, drawing a ruler extending outward approximately from the position of the pointer, and moving the ruler in response to detecting a movement of the pointer.

  • Publication number: 20020112247
Abstract: The present invention relates to the composition of synchronized media experiences, the coordination of multiple composers and publication in a production environment, the serving of these publications either immediately at creation time or at a later time, and finally, the distribution of these publications to possible a very large number of device users. One characteristic of the invention is that compositions can be device independent, targeting a wide variety of media capable devices at publication, distribution, or viewing time. Another characteristic is that a content provider can deliver media such as video, content, and commerce opportunities through any combination distribution methods and user devices simultaneously. Yet another feature is that a live event that is published through the present invention can be played back on demand or rebroadcast without any additional work on the part of the publisher.
