  • Patent number: 11966944
Abstract: A system and method for processing promotions in connection with digital purchasing. Data associated with a digital purchase request made by a consumer (the data comprising a token, an amount associated with the transaction, a promotional code for each item included in the digital purchase request associated with a promotion, a default transaction amount, and a single default promotional code) is received from a merchant server. The single default promotional code is assigned to all items included in the digital purchase request that are associated with promotions. Using the token, account information associated with the consumer is retrieved from a database. For each promotional code received, promotional information is retrieved. The retrieved promotional information is displayed. The digital purchase request is submitted for processing using the single default promotional code.

  • Patent number: 11928744
Abstract: A service engine determines whether there is a potential lack of transaction tax compliance in a plurality of jurisdictions for a plurality of entities. The service engine generates and/or transmits tax compliance data which may include information about potential lack of tax compliance of an entity in various jurisdictions based on rules about establishing nexus for purposes of remitting transaction tax in the jurisdictions. The tax compliance data may include a notification about the generation of the information, such as a notification to the entity that there exists a potential lack of tax compliance of that entity in specific jurisdictions. The service engine may update the tax compliance data dynamically and send corresponding notifications, automatically in real time or near real time for the applicable entity as sales of the entity change and/or rules for establishing nexus change for various jurisdictions.

  • Publication number: 20230289668
Abstract: A system and method for using fractional ticketing manages access and attendance at an event hosted by the host platform or entity behind an NFT-based community. An NFT-based fractional ticketing system and method according to the solution may leverage the ability of an NFT-based community platform to airdrop NFT-based assets to members of its community. In an exemplary embodiment, every member of an NFT-based community may be airdropped a voucher or coupon associated with a limited attendance event organized by the community platform. The event may be live in nature (like a tailgate party before a college football game) or virtual in nature (such as an online symposium featuring a famous keynote speaker). The coupons may each be in the form of an NFT and, as such, uniquely identifiable with the NFT-based community and the event it organized and the digital wallet to which it was dropped.

  • Publication number: 20140109003
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include a computer, computer program product and computer implemented method for allowing a user to mute selectively a computer application. In some embodiments, the computer comprises a computer display and a tangible non-transitory computer memory, the computer memory having stored thereon a plurality of computer instruction performing a process of creating a menu of computer applications running on the computer and a process of allowing the user to select from the menu of applications a particular application to mute. The instructions and computer program product, in some embodiments, determine whether an application running on the computer is generating a sound signal; add the application to a list of applications that are generating sound signals; and create a menu from the list for viewing by the user on the computer display, the menu including a name of the application and a mute icon.

  • Publication number: 20140082513
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media provide for context-sensitive, interactive logs to an administrative user console. A log server can receive at least one logging event from at least one application server based upon activity of at least one entity, identify at least one action associated with the logging event, and create and store a log entry based on the logging event and the associated action. The log server can further format an interactive display page for display at an administrative user console containing the log entry, wherein the interactive display page displays the logging event and the associated action in proximity to the logging event, and wherein the associated action can be selectable by a user at the administrative user console. In response to a selection of the associated action from the administrative user console, the associated action can be initiated.

  • Publication number: 20140082555
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include a selection device for use with a user computer and method for using the device. The selection device performs a process of providing a user with a plurality of menu icons for a plurality of computer applications on the selection device and a process of allowing a user to select a menu icon corresponding to a particular application for viewing on the user computer display. To do this, the device and method may implement the steps of displaying the plurality of menu icons representing applications available to the user on the user computer on the selection device display; enabling the user to scroll through the plurality of menu icons to select the menu icon corresponding to the particular application, and responsive to the user selecting the menu icon, transmitting an identifier for the particular application to the user computer.

  • Publication number: 20130290372
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for providing tag suggestions for a data file. One method includes receiving a request to provide tag suggestions for a data file from a client device and identifying contextual information associated with the data file. The contextual information can include an organization chart that has a plurality of entries, and is associated with a user of the client device. The method can further include determining compatibility measures where each of the compatibility measures corresponds to one of the plurality of entries, identifying, based on the compatibility measures, one or more of the plurality of entries in the organization chart as the tag suggestions, and providing, at the tag server, the tag suggestions to the client device.

  • Publication number: 20050166465
Abstract: The Premier Gutter Cover is a combination of flat metal sheeting and expanded metal so as to give adequate water control, and yet keep leaves and debris from entering the gutter system on a structure. Downward water flow is slowed by the near-flat installation of the cover, further disbursed and slowed by the V-groove rib, and yet further disbursed and slowed by the roll-front of the double-interlock of the flat sheet to expanded metal. Finally, the water is collected into the gutter system through the expanded metal section as it washes leaves and debris over the front edge of the gutter.

  • Patent number: 6070987
Abstract: A hand-held illuminated presentation pointer is described. In a lighted room, the pointer has all of the advantages of a conventional pointing rod. In a darkened room, the pointer can be illuminated so that it emits light from just one side of the shaft. When used in conjunction with a projected image such as from a 35 mm slide, the pointer is held so that illuminated side of the shaft faces the audience, with the result that the pointer is clearly visible as a glowing line in front of the projected image, and yet the appearance of the image is unaffected. Smaller illuminated pointers for use at close range are also described.

  • Patent number: 5652128
Abstract: The invention described here is a method whereby a molecular tag is put on a gene, transcript and protein in a single recombinational event. The protein tag takes the form of a unique peptide that can be recognized by an antibody or other specific reagent, the transcript tag takes the form of the sequence of nucleotides encoding the peptide that can be recognized by a specific polynucleotide probe, and the gene tag takes the form of a larger sequence of nucleotides that includes the peptide-encoding sequence and other associated nucleotide sequences. The central feature of the invention in its essential form is that the tag-creating DNA has a structure such that when it is inserted into an intron within a gene it creates two hybrid introns separated by a new exon encoding the protein tag. A major virtue of the method is that it allows one to identify new proteins or protein-containing structures, and, having done so, to readily identify and analyze the genes encoding those proteins.
