    Abstract: An apparatus and a method for reducing wireless data transmission in a personal area network is configured to generate and transmit a packet including information discriminating between a synchronous channel and a data channel. The apparatus and method discriminate between the synchronous channel and data channel when receiving a packet in order to improve data transmission performance of a human body communication system. The apparatus and the method use a transmission channel whose frequency is lower than an antenna frequency as a synchronous channel, and use a transmission channel whose frequency is higher than the antenna frequency as a data channel.

The apparatus includes a low-noise amplifier for low-noise amplifying a received signal, a receiver unit for detecting a CW signal and a tag signal, a transmitter unit for frequency up-converting and outputting an input signal, a PLL for generating a frequency signal according to a transmission signal band or a reception signal band, a receiver unit switch for connecting the receiver unit with the low-noise amplifier or a directional coupler, an antennas switch for connecting the antenna with the directional coupler or low-noise amplifier, and a controller unit for controlling a frequency of the frequency signal generated by the PLL, turning off transmission power in a case of an LBT scheme, controlling the receiver unit switch and the antenna switch, and determining if a corresponding channel is an idle channel.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a semiconductor chip comprising power pads for receiving power, a plurality of pad groups grouped according to functions in such a manner that each pad group includes at least one input/output pad, separated power rings connected to each of pad groups and for delivering power supplied from the power pads to each of the pad groups, and a switch control unit for determining usage states for input/output pads of the pad groups and for performing on/off control with respect to each of the pad groups. The pad group comprises at least simultaneously-operating input/output pad, and is grouped in such a manner that the pad group includes at least two pads sharing power supplied from one power pad. A switch control unit determines a usage state for each of the pad groups and, as a result of the determination, turns off input/output pads of an idle pad group.
