Abstract: In a method for controlling call access of a terminal in a mobile communication system based on cellular communication system, call access of mobile terminals can efficiently be controlled depending on the state of individual resources of Walsh code classes assigned to each mobile terminal from the base station and the state of a reverse link in a communication system which supports multi-transmission rate depending on service options of the mobile terminals.

Abstract: A method for controlling power of a forward common channel is disclosed. The present method allows a base station to obtain an initial power value for a closed-loop power control of mobile stations when a base station transmits data to a plurality of mobile stations through an a forward common channel. Particularly, the present method permits a base station to determine an initial power according to either a variation of reception power transmitted from a mobile station or a variation of the PCBs transmitted from a mobile station.

Abstract: An outer loop power control method for a mobile communication system is disclosed. By implementing two outer loop power control methods, one for a normal mode and the other for a soft handoff mode, the outer loop power control in the present invention variably adjusts the ratio of up/down step size for a power control threshold value during a soft handoff operation.

Abstract: Reverse link soft hand off method for improving a reverse link communication quality in a CDMA cellular communication system having a plurality of base stations, at least one mobile station, and at least one base station controller, including the step of a particular mobile station being handed off from a first channel on a serving base station to a second channel on a target base station, if a reverse link traffic signal strength or a reverse link pilot signal strength for the particular mobile station measured at a target base station exceeds a preset threshold.
