  • Publication number: 20060146128
Abstract: A display device may include a driver with a plurality of N digital to analog converters in communication with a plurality of M data lines, where M is greater than N. A digital to analog converter may be in communication with P data lines, which may receive a first sequence of P data signals and subsequently receive a second different sequence of P data signals. A display device has a plurality of scan lines, a plurality of data lines and switching elements electrically coupled to the scan lines and the data lines. Scan signals are sequentially outputted to the scan lines. Image signals that are different from one another are applied to the data lines grouped by a predetermined number. Adjacent image signals of the image signals applied to adjacent data lines of the data lines have different transmission sequences during at least one frame. Therefore, an image display quality of the display device is improved.

  • Publication number: 20050139751
Abstract: A light sensing panel includes a scan line transmitting a scan signal, a power source line transmitting a bias voltage, a readout line transmitting a light sensing signal and a light sensing device. The light sensing device includes a control electrode that is electrically connected to the scan line to receive the scan signal, a first current electrode that is electrically connected to the power source line to receive the bias voltage, and a second current electrode that is electrically connected to the readout line to apply a light sensing signal to the readout line when the light sensing signal senses an external light. The light sensing panel requires only one thin film transistor in order to detect a position wherein the external light is incident. Therefore, electrical coupling between devices is reduced and aperture ratio is increased, thereby enhancing a display quality.

  • Publication number: 20050117079
Abstract: In a light sensing element having simplified structure, an array substrate having the light sensing element and an LCD apparatus having the light sensing element, the light sensing element includes a first electrode, a control electrode and a second electrode. An alternating bias voltage is applied to the first electrode. An off voltage is applied to the control electrode. The second electrode outputs a light-induced leakage current based on an externally provided light and the bias voltage. Therefore, the array substrate includes one light sensing switching element corresponding to one pixel so that structure of the array substrate is simplified and opening ratio is increased.

  • Publication number: 20050052435
Abstract: An image display system includes a light pen to generate light to input data, and a display panel to display images in response to the light provided from the light pen. The display panel includes a first substrate on which pixel electrodes are formed, a second substrate on which a common electrode are formed, and a photo-sensor formed on the first substrate. The photo-sensor detects the light provided from the light pen to generate a light detect signal. The image display system also includes a driving module to provide new image data to the display panel to display new images in response to the light detect signal from the photo-sensor.

  • Publication number: 20040189621
Abstract: A photo detective LCD device includes a light pen. The light pen includes a body, a driving pulse generating module and a light generating module. The body has a pen shape, and an end of the body includes an opening through which light exits. The driving pulse generating module is disposed in the body and generates first and second driving power pulses having first and second frequencies, respectively. The light generating module generates first and second light in response to the first and second driving power pulses, respectively. The first and second light flickers in a third frequency and a fourth frequency, respectively. The power consumption is reduced, and the brightness of sensing light is enhanced. The light pen generates light having at least two different frequencies, and the display device recognizes light generated from the light pen effectively. Therefore, the display device may operate without failure.
