Abstract: A rack housing assembly and an energy storage apparatus having the rack housing assembly are disclosed. The rack housing assembly may include a rack housing defining a plurality of accommodation spaces, each having open front side configured to house a battery tray. The rack housing assembly may also include an anchor member formed on at least at one side of the rack housing and be configured to fix the rack housing to a wall member of an installation space. The rack housing assembly intensively may house a plurality of battery trays and be configured to electrically connect the housed battery trays so that the housed battery trays are modulated. The rack housing assembly may include an improved anti-vibration characteristic with respect to external shocks or vibrations that may be generated during transfer.

Abstract: A case for a battery cell includes a heat radiation unit, a terminal unit, and an insulating frame interlocked with the heat radiation unit and the terminal unit to form the case. The heat radiation unit and the terminal unit are integrated by the insulating frame so that it is possible to prevent the heat radiation unit or the terminal unit from being separated from the case.

Abstract: A polymer battery pack assembly comprising a mounting frame having a first cavity defining a first mounting location and a second cavity defining a second mounting location, the first and second cavities being separated from each other; a top case mounted on the second mounting location, the top case having a third cavity defining a third mounting location; a lithium polymer battery cell mounted within the first mounting location, the battery cell having a positive tap and a negative tap extending beyond the first cavity towards the second mounting location; and a protection circuit module mounted in the third mounting location, the protection circuit module being electrically connected to the positive tap and the negative tap when the top case is mounted to the mounting frame such that the protection circuit module fits into said second cavity.

Abstract: A battery pack includes a bare cell having a pair of first side portions, a pair of second side portions, and a pair of plane portions, each of which are opposite to each other. The second side portions and the plane portions are connected to ends of the first side portions. A protection circuit module is electrically connected to the bare cell. An inner frame exposes one side portion of the pair of first side portions and accommodates the bare cell. An outer frame exposes the pair of plane portions and accommodates the bare cell, the protection circuit module and the inner frame. In the battery pack, outer ribs extending away from the bare cell are further formed at the inner frame that comes in contact with the pair of second side portions of the bare cell so that the outer frame is surrounded by the outer ribs.

Abstract: A secondary battery having a protecting circuit module (PCM) and a secondary protection device. The battery includes a metal tab of the PCM and a metal tab of the secondary protection device that are connected to each other on the top of the PCM. One or more of the tabs are bent to bring the tabs in closer proximity to facilitate welding therebetween.
