Abstract: A system and a method of adjusting colors of print data are provided. The system includes a printer driver converting a document transmitted from an application program into print data suitable for a printer and transmitting the print data to the printer. A soft proofing unit applies a soft proofing process to the print data converted by the printer driver. A display unit displays the print data obtained through the soft proofing process. A color lookup table (CLUT) supplies a color adjustment value to the print data when the print data is processed in the soft proofing unit. A system and a method of adjusting colors of print data is also provided to allow a user to accurately predict and adjust the colors of a printout, thereby obtaining the printout having the desired colors.

Abstract: A method of providing a print preview of a print document allows a user to preview the print document on a user interface (or a registration window) of a printer driver, thereby allowing the user to intuitively recognize a print preview function and execute the print preview function without being confused by menus associated with the print preview function. The method includes selecting a print menu in an application program related to the print document to print the print document. A printer driver is executed to display a print window on a screen of a computer executing the application program when the print menu is selected on the application program. An additional print preview selection message window is displayed on the screen to instruct a user to select whether or not to invoke a print preview window when a confirmation button is pressed in the print window to transmit a print command to a printer.

Abstract: A method and apparatus to perform a printing job by adjusting color information include updating a predetermined color conversion table stored in an image forming device by inputting color adjustment information from a user, and performing the printing job using the updated color conversion table. Accordingly, the printing job is performed by adjusting color information regardless of whether an emulator of the image forming device supports a color adjustment function, increasing the efficiency of the printing operation. Additionally, when printing jobs are performed by repeatedly adjusting color information using the same color adjustment information, since the color information is converted using the same color conversion table as the color conversion table is updated using the color adjustment information, a waste of time for the color conversion is reduced.

Abstract: An image processing method of reproducing an image displayed on a screen of a display unit on a printing medium used by an image forming device includes displaying a preview window on the screen of the display unit, displaying the image in the preview window, and printing the image having the same colors as those displayed in the preview window using the image forming device. In addition, an image processing apparatus usable with a display unit and an image forming device includes a data capture unit to capture data of at least a portion of an image displayed on a screen of the display unit, and a color adjustment unit to convert the image displayed on the screen of the display unit to an image having the same colors as those of an image displayed in a preview window by adjusting the colors of the image displayed on the screen of the display unit based on the image data captured by the data capture unit, and to output the converted image to the image forming device.

Abstract: A network scan system includes a network scanner accessible by a computer and capable of communicating with the computer through a firewall. A method of operating the network scan system includes installing a hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) server module into the computer, transmitting a uniform resource locator (URL) of the computer to the network scanner using the HTTP server module, and transmitting scanned data to the computer from the network scanner using the transmitted URL. Accordingly, it is possible to exchange data between the network scanner and the computer using the HTTP server module installed into the computer even if a firewall is installed.

Abstract: A method of managing settings of properties of an image forming device includes receiving a first selection of properties from a user to create a set of properties of the image forming device, assigning a name of a user setting group to represent the set of properties and storing the user setting group having the assigned name, receiving a second selection of properties from the user, comparing the second selection of properties to the set of properties of the stored user setting group having the assigned name, and associating the assigned name of the stored user setting group with a user setting group having the second selection of properties when the set of properties is identical to the second selection of properties. Therefore, the method of managing settings of properties can effectively manage settings of properties of the image forming device to prevent creation of unnecessary user setting groups.

Abstract: Provided are a network scanner and a method of organizing and maintaining a network scanning system, which makes a list of users who are currently connected to the network scanner and automatically maintains the users connections to the network scanner even when an Internet protocol (IP) address of the network scanner changes. The method involves (a) enabling the computer to transmit user information to the network scanner, the user information being input by a user of the computer with the use of a client program installed in the computer; (b) enabling the network scanner to receive the user information from the client program; and (c) enabling the network scanner to make a user list by using the received user information.
