Abstract: An inter-home content sharing apparatus and method are provided. The inter-home content sharing apparatus includes a home network protocol stack which communicates with the home network devices according to a home network protocol; a remote storage controller which receives a request for sharing content from the home network devices through the home network protocol, connects to a remote storage to upload the content, and controls the remote storage to extract metadata of the content; and a message controller which controls transception of notification messages including sharing information on the uploaded content.

Abstract: An AV session restoration method and a control point for performing the same are provided. The method includes collecting AV session information, and restoring the AV session based on the collected AV session information when an error occurs in the AV session.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for transmitting and receiving a stream of content in a distributed storage system. In the present invention, a stream of a copy of content is received from a plurality of storages being distributed in a network, and a stream of the original content is selectively received according to the quality of the copy of the content. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent degradation in the quality and reliability of content when archival fragments of a copy of the content are received from a distributed storage, thereby stably receiving a high-quality content streaming service.

Abstract: A method and a device for switching a media renderer to another media renderer while a client performs streaming playback of content of a server are provided. Accordingly, a first client that performs streaming playback of the content transmits playback environment information and a URL of the content to the second client, and the second client transmits the received information and information about features of the second client to the server and requests the corresponding content which has the optimized format for the second client from the server. Therefore, a user can continue to watch the media content through a new media renderer in existing playback environment setting without additional manipulation.

Abstract: A method of sharing applications using a peer-to-peer protocol includes registering, by a first peer, applications to be shared; determining whether the registered application files meet a search condition included in an application search instruction that is received from a second peer, and transmitting a description file to the second peer in response to the determination results; making a connection to the second peer through a predetermined protocol to perform a service pertaining to an application meeting the search condition; and executing a session for providing a remote display service pertaining to the application for the second peer, such that client peers can share idle resources in server peers, and can use applications that cannot be executed with their current resources or in their current environments.
