Abstract: A method for workflow management in a medical workflow management system wherein a first user logs in to the workflow management system running a desktop application and next identifies an additional, non logged-in user and defines at least one task of the workflow for this additional user. Selection of an additional user and defined task(s) triggers the workflow management system to associate the defined task(s) of the workflow with the additional user.

Abstract: A system for pre-fetching in a medical imaging and archiving platform a subset of comparison medical studies in relation to an active medical study includes a medical study database to store medical studies; a relevancy rule database to store relevancy rules that express relevancy of a comparison medical study in view of an active medical study; a relevancy rule manager enabling to define the relevancy rules; and a relevancy rule engine to select for the active medical study applicable relevancy rules from the relevancy rule database, and to apply the selected relevancy rules to pre-fetch the subset of comparison medical studies. The relevancy rules include enhanced relevancy rules using contextual information stored in a medical report, an order, or procedure information that forms part of the medical studies.

Abstract: A method of operating a data processing system for managing measurements on medical images includes automatically updating measurement information in a draft medical report when the measurement on the medical image is modified.

Abstract: When standardized messages including additional clinical information are received by a system for task management on clinical information, the system uses the metadata of the standardized messages to automatically verify if a report already exists for the medical procedure where the additional clinical information belongs to. When a report already exists, a workflow engine is triggered to automatically create in the system a task for the author of the report to verify the existing report in view of the additional clinical information received. Thereby, the sending of manually entered notifications by e-mail or sms is avoided.

Result sections entries are received for each of the types of result sections that are required by the record creation request. Result sections entries are stored with the type of result sections within a medical record as stored result sections. The stored result sections are retrievable for generating a medical report from the medical record. A report generation request is received at a workstation and a report structure corresponding to the report generation request is selected. Results sections required by the report generation request are retrieved from medical records and a medical report is generated.
