  • Publication number: 20090200721
Abstract: A band spring including fiber composite material and extending in an undulating way, wherein a spring band can be provided to meander in the form of one single wave train composed of reversal regions and intermediate portions around a longitudinal center line L which can substantially correspond to the direction of force introduction K, and wherein, there can be provided an increased resistance moment of the spring band in the reversal regions of the wave train.

  • Patent number: 7392978
Abstract: A wheel suspension comprising a vehicle body, a wheel movably articulated on the vehicle body via a control arm assembly. A wheel carrier and at least one helical pressure spring which is supported on the vehicle body on the one hand and on the wheel carrier or the control arm assembly on the other hand. The spring stiffness of the vehicle body support referred to the wheel contact point of the wheel can be controlled so as to be variable. Use is made of a helical pressure spring assembly whose force action line deviates from the geometric spring center line. Furthermore, there are provided rotational means for the 3-dimensional adjustment of the force action line relative to the geometric spring center line.

  • Publication number: 20070228625
Abstract: A helical compression spring (3) with two end turns (7) and a transition area adjoining each end turn (7) as an axle spring for wheel suspensions of motor vehicles, for example, for wheel suspensions with a wheel-guiding MacPherson strut unit (5) which has a helical compression spring (3) and a shock absorber (4), and which is connected, on the one hand, to the body (1), and on the other hand, to the wheel (2), and with a suspension arm (6). The helical compression spring (3) has its vibration strength and the service life greatly increased by the end turns (7) and/or transition regions being machined by worked hardening by rolling and/or by work hardening by hammering.

  • Patent number: 6808193
Abstract: A wheel suspension with a wheel-guiding strut in provided which includes a helical compression spring, a shock absorber, and a suspension arm, and which is connected to a body and to a wheel. The helical compression spring is preferably made such that it at least partially compensates for transverse forces on the shock absorber or on the piston rod of the shock absorber. Provisions are made for reducing or minimizing or eliminating the force which is delivered to the steering mechanism and which results from the difference between the components of the helical compression spring forces FF acting in the direction of travel, and thus the reaction forces RF, on the left and right sides of the vehicle.
