  • Patent number: 8780038
Abstract: A refrigerator has a function display panel mounted to the housing, for indicating functional states and/or operational parameters of the refrigerator. The function display panel contains electrically charged pigment carriers that can be moved under the influence of an electric field. A plurality of electrodes apply an electric field to the pigment carriers. The electrodes are each assigned to one display element of the function display panel.

  • Patent number: 8056347
Abstract: An auxiliary cooling device is used in another main cooling device, such as a refrigerator. The auxiliary cooling device includes a thermoelectric element, such as a Peltier element, which includes a heat source and a heat sink. The heat sink is used to directly or indirectly cool an item, such as a bottle of liquid. The heat source, which is insulated from the heat sink, is in close thermal contact with a heat exchange fluid in a container. The heat exchange fluid is used as a thermal buffer for the waste heat generated by the cooling process. That waste heat may be transmitted into the main storage chamber of the main cooling device.

  • Patent number: 7216499
Abstract: An icemaker for a refrigeration device contains a refrigerant circuit and an ice container that is located in a subassembly housed in a refrigeration compartment of the refrigeration device. The ice container is in thermal contact with the refrigerant circuit by a first heat exchanger. A second sub-assembly that is located in a freezer compartment of the refrigeration device contains a second heat exchanger of the refrigerant circuit. Water in the ice container is cooled by the dissipation of heat from the second heat exchanger to the freezer compartment.

  • Publication number: 20050144974
Abstract: A heat exchanger, such as for a refrigeration device, including a pipe for a first heat exchanger fluid and having a turbine located in the pipe and being driven by the flow of the first heat exchanger fluid. A magnet is coupled to the turbine and generates a rotating magnetic field outside the pipe. The rotating magnetic field outside the pipe drives a flow generator which acts on a second heat exchanger fluid in contact with the pipe.
