    Abstract: A door and locking assembly is disclosed for the electronic control of a door. The assembly includes a door having an exterior side, an interior side, a latch edge and an interior portion. An electronic control unit is provided. The control unit is located inside the door and is in communication with an antenna that is located on the external latch edge of the door. The control unit may be located in housing designed to fit within a mortised pocket in the door and the antenna may be protected by a cover that resembles a faceplate.

    Abstract: A method of testing audio emergency notification apparatuses which are provide to alert occupants of a building that an emergency condition which requires action is occurring, includes activating a control panel manually or automatically to test an audio apparatus, instructing the control panel to test the audio apparatuses either one by one, sequentially or simultaneously and generating a test signal for testing the apparatuses which is sent via closed circuit or radio frequency to each audio apparatus. The test signal causes each apparatus to generate an audio signal, the level or frequency of which from each apparatus is measured with a calibrated microphone and is sent to a selected destination.

    Abstract: A security alarm system that may be selectively armed or disarmed when monitoring a protective premises is described which utilizes the position of an entry door to determine whether the security system should be armed or disarmed. The security system comprises (i) an entry door for permitting ingress to the protected premises from the outside of the entry door and egress from the protected premises from the inside of the door; (ii) means for selectively closing and opening the entry door; and (iii) a switch having a first state indicative of the entry door being in a closed position and a second state indicative of the entry door being in an open position wherein, when the switch is in its first state, the security system is armed and, when the switch is in its second state, the security system is disarmed.
