  • Patent number: 10133308
Abstract: A module for use with an electronic device includes a housing including a processor and a memory and an electronic cable coupled to a retracting spool disposed in the housing. The electronic cable includes a plurality of retention tabs disposed on the electronic cable. The module also includes a cable retention aperture passing through a side of the housing and including a wide portion and a narrow portion adjacent the wide portion. • Patent number: 9954573
Abstract: A mobile device case is described that comprises an outer shell, a blade and one or more integrated display screens. The case is reversible in that a user can place a mobile device within the case in either of a forward or backward orientation while maintaining functionality on the display screen of the mobile device and/or on the one or more integrated display screens of the case. The case protects the mobile device, and particularly its display screen, while still allowing the user to access and use the functions of the mobile device. Further, the case helps to conserve the battery life of the mobile device by deactivating some or all of the display screen of the mobile device.

  • Publication number: 20160290143
Abstract: A method and a device for power extraction by means of an axial fluid machine, in an annulus tube comprising at least a rotatable inner wall (308, 408, 501) and/or a rotatable outer wall (409, 502) over which a swirling fluid is flowing with a velocity (420). According to this method, the said fluid creates tangential force (417) on at least one of said rotatable walls (308, 408, 501 and 502) of the axial fluid machine and creates power of that said shaft (309, 414, 505 and/or 506).

  • Publication number: 20160099095
Abstract: A magnetic device is described for releasably connecting a pair of assemblies; the device may serve as a mechanical connection or as an electrical connection, or both. The device comprises an inner core of high permeability material, a permanent magnet surrounding the inner core, and an outer excitation coil surrounding the permanent magnet. If the permeability of the high permeability material exceeds the permeability of the permanent magnet by a factor of at least 1,000, a manageable number of amp-turns in the excitation coil is capable of reversing the magnetic effect of the permanent magnet. The magnetic device can be miniaturized and provided in contact arrays suitable for coupling mobile devices.

  • Patent number: 8972159
Abstract: Systems, methods, software, and apparatuses for coordinating traffic proximate to a potential conflict zone, such as a roadway intersection, where travel conflicts, such as crossing traffic, can arise. Coordination involves forming an ad-hoc network in a region containing the conflict zone using, for example, vehicle-to-vehicle communications and developing a dynamic traffic control plan based on information about vehicles approaching the conflict zone. Instructions based on the dynamic traffic control plan are communicated to devices aboard vehicles in the ad-hoc network, which display one or more virtual traffic signals to the operators of the vehicles and/or control the vehicles in accordance with the dynamic traffic control plan.
