  • Publication number: 20240195602
Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for facilitating robustness for synchronization signal block (SSB) are provided. A network node may attempt to transmit SSBs in first positions. For example, the network node may perform a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure prior to transmitting the SSBs, and transmissions of the SSBs may fail or succeed based on failure or success of the LBT procedure. If the transmissions fail, the network node may attempt to transmit the failed SSBs in second SSB positions. For example, the second SSB positions may be associated with the first positions, and may be reserved for retransmission of SSBs that fail in the corresponding first positions. If the network node transmits the SSBs, the UE may perform various operations described herein including, e.g., determining whether the SSBs were transmitted in the first positions or the second positions and/or an SSB index or timing.

  • Publication number: 20240188040
Abstract: This disclosure presents apparatuses and methods to determine, assign, and communicate paging subgroups using assistance information. In some aspects, assistance information can include user equipment (UE) parameters, for example, UE capability parameters, UE type parameters, ID preference parameters, location parameters, or mobility parameters. In some aspects, assistance information can include network parameters, cell parameters, or information about a subset or all UEs registered on the network. The radio access network (RAN) or core network (CN) can utilize the assistance information to determine the number of paging subgroups and to assign one or more subsets of UEs to each paging subgroup. The RAN or CN can communicate the paging subgroups to one or more of the UEs within the network. In some aspects, the paging subgroup can be directly indicated to the UE. In some aspects, the paging subgroup can be derived by the UE using the received paging subgroup information.

  • Publication number: 20240179791
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, methods, apparatuses and computer readable storage media of state transition reporting. The method comprises: determining, at a first device, a DRX configuration for a second device in an inactive state, the second device located within an area served by one or more devices comprising the first device; determining configuration information based at least in part on the DRX configuration; and transmitting, to a third device of a core network, the configuration information to cause the third device to adjust downlink transmissions for the second device. The core network can determine when the UE is reachable and adjust transmissions associated with paging accordingly. As such, a longer eDRX cycle can be achieved without increasing buffering burden at the RAN.

  • Patent number: 11924755
Abstract: Method, apparatus, and computer program product for a user equipment in a wireless communications system to receive configuration information that has one or more TCI-states. With this configuration information, the user equipment can then determine inactivity on TCI-states. Based on that determination, the user equipment enables either a discontinuous monitoring or a cessation of monitoring on those TCI-states. Each TCI-state corresponds to a radio beam and also corresponds to an antenna panel. By reducing such monitoring, the use equipment can deactivate antenna panels corresponding to the TCI-states. The determination can be done through the use of a timer with various time thresholds based on the TCI-state. The activity being transmitted on those beam can be scheduling received by the user equipment from a network element such as a base station. The TCI-states can also be grouped and the functionality of the invention dealt with on a group basis.

  • Publication number: 20240073862
Abstract: According to embodiments of the present disclosure, a first device receives a configuration of a paging indication from a second device. The configuration indicates how to monitor the paging indication and mapping between the paging indication and a set of paging occasions. The first device monitors a paging message in a paging occasion associated with the first device. In this way, it can reduce latency and save power at the first device. Further, it also saves signaling for paging.
