  • Patent number: 6472770
Abstract: The invention relates to an intelligent current distribution system and a method for manufacturing the same. The current distribution system is particularly intended for vehicles. In the method, a current distribution cable (3) is fitted with intelligent connecting sockets (1, 2), which are provided with output pins (8) for supplying current to loads to be connected to the system and with switches (18a) for distributing current to the output pins (8) as well as with control electronics (19) for controlling the switches (18a) on the basis of control messages received from a message communication bus (17) of the cable (3) or from a socket input connector (10). Prior to or after connecting the randomly selected sockets (1, 2) to the cable (3), the control electronics (19) of each socket is programmed with individual behave programs (26), which are preordained on the basis of the location of the socket (1, 2) on the table.

  • Patent number: 6469404
Abstract: The invention relates to an intelligent control system for current distribution in a vehicle. The current distribution and communication transmission are handled by a central unit which is divided into structurally discrete junction modules (2), each of which connects to its own cable branch (4). Each junction module controls independently the power supply and communication transmission for the cable branch (4) attached thereto. The central unit is further provided with elements for the transmission and reception of communication between the junction modules (2). The intelligence required for the load-specific operating control is decentralized to connecting sockets (3) present in the cable branches (4).

  • Patent number: 6356826
Abstract: The invention relates to an intelligent current distribution system for vehicles and a method for manufacturing the system. In the system, the current is distributed to loads through intelligent connecting sockets (1). The sockets are mounted in desired locations on a cable (2), whose message communication bus (11) or a socket input-connector (7) is used to deliver control commands to control electronics (14-17) controlling operation of the socket. The control electronics include a basic program memory (16), in which are stored operating instruction programs for all necessary functions of several sockets in the system. Thus, any socket can be randomly located at least within a limited portion of the current distribution system. The socket is modified for individual operation during or after installation of the socket.

  • Patent number: 6135806
Abstract: This invention relates to a junction between an intelligent contact terminal (3) and a cable (1, 2), said junction comprising connector pins (4) extending from the contact terminal (3), penetrating into a cable insulation sheath (1) and piercing flat wires (2) included in the cable and provided with lip portions (10) pressing against the lateral faces of the pins. In order to provide a secure contact, the pins (4) are slightly conical or tapered at least within the region of said lip portions (10). By designing the flat wire as a multilayer wire, the lip portions (10) of the wire layers together can be brought to provide an increased contact area. In addition, the multilayer wire (2) is penetrable with a lesser application of force if the cable is provided with preliminary holes for the pins (4).

  • Patent number: 6096978
Abstract: A flat cable having a metal conductors enclosed by a flexible insulation sheath. The conductors are flat and in a side by side orientation in the lateral direction and the conductors are provided with bends which enable a substantial increase in the length of the conductors upon extending the insulation sheath without breaking the conductors. The conductors are also provided at certain distances with short straight conductor sections that are oriented closer to the external surface of the flexible insulation sheath. The insulation sheath is constituted by an inner insulation which surrounds the conductors and a harder, outer insulation which serves as an actual protective cable sheath.

  • Patent number: 5997338
Abstract: A connector joint is shown for use in effecting a galvanic joint with flat metal strip conductors surrounded by an insulating sheath for supplying or delivering electricity to an apparatus requiring electrical power, or for providing an electrical connection to an extension or branch wire. Pins are provided having sharp cutting ridges for piercing the insulating sheath and the flat metal strip conductors. Portions of the flat metal strip conductors form downwardly turned lips that press firmly against sides of the pins when the pins are assembled into the connector joint. A wire connector is electrically connected to said pins and a switch can be provided to control the flow of electricity from the flat metal strip conductors through the pins and to the wire connector.

  • Patent number: 4936639
Abstract: The present invention relates to improving the stability of a turning-track track-laying vehicle such as a snowmobile. The vehicle comprises such a track belt (10), whose one edge can be stretched and whose other edge can be contracted by turning the end roll (14) or rolls (14, 15) which guide the track belt (10) so that the track belt (10) can be bent to a curved position in order to steer the vehicle. The bottom run of the track belt (10) loop is, in front of the crosswise gravity center plane (A--A) seen in the principal driving direction (E) of vehicle, pressed or weighted against the driving surface, particularly against soft snow (L--L), in such a way that, due to and in the region of said weighting, such a limited area (P33) of surface pressure higher than the average is created in which the maximum surface pressure (pmax, p2) is substantially higher than the average surface pressure (p1) in the rear section of the bottom run of the track belt.

  • Patent number: 4905635
Abstract: The present inventio relates to a valve gear for an internal combustion engine. The internal combustion engine has one or more cylinders and a piston reciprocating therein as well as a cylinder head mounted on an upper end of the cylinder. At least one exhaust valve opening into an exhaust channel and at least one suction valve opening into a suction channel are arranged in each cylinder. The valves are operated by transmission of a cam shaft or the like. In accordance with the present invention, the size of a combustion space of the cylinders is adapted to be changed in a force-controlled manner periodically during one crankshaft revolution by way of a movable sleeve fitted around at least one valve. This sleeve is arranged, together with the valve, to penetrate into the combustion space for reducing the combustion space. The sleeve or sleeves can be arranged around the suction valve or valves and/or around the exhaust valve or valves.

  • Patent number: 4900106
Abstract: The invention relates to a power transmission of a turning-track track-laying vehicle. The track-laying vehicle comprises such a closed-loop type track belt (10) arranged between end rolls or similar (11, 12) in such a way that one edge of the track belt can be stretched and the other edge of the track belt contracted in order to make the vehicle execute a turn. The vehicle comprises a motor (26), a traction sprocket or sprockets (30), and power transmission equipment between the traction sprocket or sprockets (30) and the motor (26). The drive sprocket or sprockets (30) are positioned above the top run of the track belt (10), preferably sideways in its middle range. In the traction sprocket or sprockets (30) there are drive cogs (32) or similar, which drive cogs (32) are in driving contact with the openings (40), grooves or similar of the track belt, so that the traction force can be transmitted from the traction sprocket or sprockets (30) to the track belt (10).

  • Patent number: 4188076
Abstract: A vehicle or a conveyer has a pair of rolls which are spaced from each other and provided with central axes of rotation situated in a given common plane. An endless belt extends between and is guided around these rolls with this belt having on opposite sides of the above plane a pair of runs which respectively travel in opposite directions during rotation of the pair of rolls. This endless belt has a pair of opposed endless side edge regions and midway between the latter an elongated endless central region which is flexible but substantially non-stretchable. Between the central region and each of its side edge regions the endless belt has a lateral endless elastic portion which is capable of stretching and contracting longitudinally.
