  • Patent number: 8029632
Abstract: A belt package for a pneumatic vehicle tire has at least two belt plies. The belt plies are built up in at least two sub-packages, which are automatically placed on a belt drum and automatically spliced independently of one another. The sub-packages are then joined together to form the complete belt package.

  • Publication number: 20080066850
Abstract: A pneumatic tire for a vehicle has a casing that extends over the periphery of the tire, a belt that extends radially on the outside of the casing over the entire periphery of the tire and in an axial direction over at least the width of the pneumatic tire. The belt is made of one or several belt plies with rigid supports which are embodied diagonally in the direction of the periphery of the tire and are embedded in a parallel manner in the rubber or plastic material. A bandage extends radially on the outside of the belt over the periphery of the tire. One or several parallel reinforcement supports are wound about the external belt position which is constructed on the construction body in a helical or spiral-shape in the axial direction of the construction body which is oriented, substantially, in the direction of the periphery which is constructed on a pivotable, rotationally-symmetrical construction body which is radial to the outer belt position of the belt in order to produce the bandage.

  • Publication number: 20060169394
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for the helical winding of an essentially band or strip-shaped reinforcing element onto at least one ply of a pneumatic tire blank. The apparatus includes a rotating tire or belt build-up drum, a winding wheel disposed upstream of the drum and connected with devices for applying tension to the reinforcing element, and sensors that detect the position of the reinforcing element on the winding wheel, and the tension applied to the reinforcing element, and convey these values to a control device. The winding wheel is connected with a motor for driving or slowing the winding wheel, whereby at least two tensioning and guide rollers are radially spaced relative to the winding wheel such that the reinforcing element, which is guided over the winding wheel, forms a defined looping angle.

  • Publication number: 20030075255
Abstract: A pneumatic vehicle tire of radial construction, especially for automobiles, is provided. The tire has a profiled tread strip, a belt structure of at least two belt plies, bead regions having bead cores, and a carcass having load-carrying members of steel cord. In the tire the carcass forms a C-ply construction and contains steel cords of three or five steel filaments, which all have the same diameter of 0.12 to 0.1 5mm.
