  • Patent number: 10495385
Abstract: A heat exchange device of a floating core type, having a special configuration which allows increasing its durability as it increases its thermal fatigue resistance. The device is characterized by a configuration having high thermal fatigue resistance due to the special configuration of the end where the floating side of the core is located since stagnation regions that are usually produced in the baffle of the floating end are eliminated by the combination of the shape of the shell and of a deflector. This configuration furthermore results in a low-cost exchanger.

  • Patent number: 10458723
Abstract: The present invention is a cross-flow evaporator adapted to generate vapor from the heat of the exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine. The evaporator is constituted, among other elements, by two plates spaced from one another which contain chambers. The heat exchange tubes alternately communicate the chambers of both plates, establishing a specific path for the fluid intended to change phase. The tubes extending between the chambers of the two plates are arranged transverse to the flow of the hot gas. This evaporator is suitable for heat recovery systems using a Rankine cycle, making use of the heat from the exhaust gases. The invention is characterized by a special configuration of the chambers by means of caps that allow the evacuation-of the gases generated during a brazing welding in the manufacturing process.

  • Patent number: 9951716
Abstract: A device for anchoring components or parts to a rigid element, such as an engine block, for example, or to intermediate elements which are in turn fixed to rigid elements, such as an intermediate pin mounted on the engine block, for example. The anchor consists of a structure which can be manufactured from stamped and punched sheet metal parts giving rise to an inexpensive and easy-to-manufacture component. The particular configuration based on stamped and punched sheet metal parts shows high rigidity and is particularly suitable for anchoring heavy components. The fixing anchor is suitable for bolted joints of the components or parts.

  • Publication number: 20170058842
Abstract: Provided are heat exchangers for internal combustion engines wherein a first fluid, preferably a hot gas, gives off its heat to a second fluid, preferably a coolant liquid. The presently disclosed heat exchangers include caps that limit the heat exchange capacity of the exchanger without causing differential expansions between elements or parts of these elements that may damage the device or reduce its service life due to thermal fatigue. A device of the presently disclosed subject matter can be sized for the engine having a higher rated power, and the same heat exchanger, can be adapted for operating with engines having a lower rated power without the velocity of the gas to be cooled being reduced, thereby preventing the accumulation of particles therein or fouling.

  • Patent number: 9512807
Abstract: The present invention relates to a heat exchanger for cooling a gas which can mainly be applied in EGR systems with a floating core. The differences in temperature achieved during operation of the casing and the core of gas ducts housed therein give rise to degrees of expansion which are also different. If the ends of both components were fixed to each other, stresses which would cause the breakage thereof would occur. The common solution applied is to leave one of the ends of the core of ducts floating, i.e., with capacity for longitudinal displacement with respect to the casing to prevent the occurrence of stresses. The floating end of the core has an attachment by means of O-ring gaskets. The O-ring gaskets are made of an elastomer that cannot reach very high temperatures, hence in the state of the art the floating attachment is on the side where the already cooled gas exits.

  • Publication number: 20160334054
Abstract: The present invention relates to a fixing anchor for fixing components or parts to a support surface such as that provided by a rigid element, such as, for example, the engine block, or to intermediate elements which in turn are fixed to rigid elements, such as, for example, an intermediate pin mounted on the engine block, wherein said fixing is devised for bolted attachments. The anchor according to the invention is made up of a structure that can be manufactured from a single part of punched and stamped sheet metal, where the development thereof in sheet metal forms a single part, giving rise to an inexpensive and easy-to-manufacture component. The special configuration from the single part of punched and stamped sheet metal shows high rigidity and the resulting anchor is particularly suitable for anchoring heavy components.

  • Patent number: 9400143
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for reducing the vibrations of a tube bundle of a heat exchanger inside its shell, wherein this device allows a secure and quick insertion after the bundle has been manufactured. This easy insertion after manufacturing the bundle allows the high temperatures to which the bundle is subjected for the attachment by means of brazing to not affect the properties of the device, particularly the elasticity achieved by means of tempering, for example.

  • Publication number: 20150260466
Abstract: The present invention is a flow deflector suitable for a heat exchanger of the type consisting of at least one core made up of tubes forming a bundle arranged inside a shell and at least one baffle. The deflector according to the invention is an easily manufactured part independent from the construction of the bundle of tubes and of the baffle which allows modifying the coolant fluid or liquid flow path with greater freedom than that achieved by combining internal openings in the baffle or baffles. Another object of this invention is the heat exchanger obtained using the deflector for optimising coolant liquid flow path. The application of the invention in heat exchangers for EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) systems is of special interest.
