  • Patent number: 12005632
Abstract: Systems and methods for lens creations are disclosed. The method includes initiating light transmission from a light source through a diffuser into a container holding resin and a substrate. The light transmission is performed according to an irradiation pattern wherein each point in the resin is illuminated by at least 10% of the diffuser. This causes a lens to be formed. To achieve this illumination, at least 15% of the diffuser receives light from the light source. Further, a diameter of the diffuser is greater than or equal to a diameter of the substrate. The system performing the methods includes a polymerization apparatus and may include a resin conditioning and reservoir apparatus, a metrology unit, a resin drainage apparatus and an optional postcuring apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20210402699
Abstract: The machine comprises: manufacturing robots (201) to fabricate parts 1506 through additive manufacturing; and an automatic loading system (401) of manufacturing platforms (404), to feed the manufacturing robot or robots (201) with manufacturing platforms 404 designed to support parts during manufacturing and manufactured parts 1506. The loader is located beside each manufacturing robot (201) to load the manufacturing platforms. The lateral external location of the loader with respect to the manufacturing robot (201) permits the integration of a heating system inside the robot to heat the manufacturing platform when the platform is loaded, giving rise to the possibility of printing in different materials such as technical polymers, metals, and ceramics; furthermore, having the loading system outside of the robotic arm, one single loader could feed several adjacent robotic arms.

  • Patent number: 10591215
Abstract: A skim tool and method for removing impurities from molten alloys in furnaces generally includes a collection portion and an arm. The collection portion has an interior and a blade member having a plurality of apertures configured to capture impurities during application and direct the impurities into the interior. The skim tool further includes a conduit having a first end with an inlet and a second end having a plurality of fingers that extend in various directions along the front side of the blade member. Each of the fingers define an outlet end that are in fluid communication with the inlet. The inlet for receiving a source of nitrogen to be blown through the conduit into the molten metal in the form of a gas.

  • Patent number: 9311433
Abstract: A system for solving equations of a given scientific code for a large dataset represented as a mesh includes first computing circuitry, second computing circuitry, and communication circuitry. The first computing circuitry includes software to arrange the mesh in a sequential order, and a memory to store the mesh data and the results obtained in the execution of the scientific code. The second computing circuitry includes software to execute the scientific code for one vertex of the mesh, and a cache memory to store all the neighboring vertices to the one vertex. The communication circuitry is between the first and second computing circuitry so that the first computing circuitry fed the second computing circuitry with the vertices of the mesh following the sequential order, and the scientific code is executed for all the vertices of the mesh and its results are returned to the first computing circuitry.

  • Publication number: 20120303337
Abstract: The invention refers to systems and methods to optimize the memory and communications that suits the memory organization of many scientific codes, such as Computer Fluid Dynamics codes, that operate on meshes, such the mesh of an object that moves through a fluid medium. The methods adjust the order in which the data are used inside the algorithm, by means of traversing and ordering the mesh. This ordered mesh is streamed into the lower memory levels and allows for minimal data transfer requirements. The method also reduces the memory needs dramatically and improves the execution time of the scientific code. The systems and methods are particularly useful in the aeronautic industry for designing new aircrafts.

  • Patent number: 7820924
Abstract: A directional controller for a device is provided. The directional controller consists of keypad contacts, a keyboard, and a button. The keypad contacts are on a printed circuit board. The keyboard has more than four keys and each key is disposed adjacent to one of the keypad contacts. The button is operable for pivoting engagement with the more than four keys to promote contact between the more than four keys and the adjacent one of the keypad contacts.

  • Publication number: 20100093062
Abstract: A Perkinsus heterologous expression system that is useful to produce recombinant proteins, e.g., from related parasites of medical and veterinary relevance. This expression system increases the number of genes that can be targeted for protein structure/function studies, production of antigens, and in vitro drug screening. Also described is a transfection system for Perkinsus species, including a transfection vector expressing heterologous DNA encoding one or more Apicomplexa proteins.

  • Publication number: 20040138193
Abstract: Oleoyl estrone or estrone monooleate is a fatty-acid monoester of an estrogen which appear to be useful for the preparation of a medicament for the treatment and/or profilaxis of a human suffering from a metabolic disease selected from the group consisting of diabetes mellitus type 2, hyperlipidemia (hypertriacylglyceridemia, hyperlipoproteinemia, hypercholesterolemia) and the Metabolic Syndrome X associated with glucose intolerance, hyperinsulinemia, or insulin resistance. Compared with insulin, oleoyl-estrone has the advantage of being aministered orally. The effectiveness of oleoyl-estrone as oral antidiabetic is conspicuous since it does not act as a simple hypoglycemic agent, but goes to the root of the problem lowering insulin resistance. The additional hypolipemic effect allows to extend its use for the treatment of dislipemias.
