  • Patent number: 8256988
Abstract: An apparatus and method for disrupting a hurricane are disclosed. The apparatus comprises a plurality of interconnected slabs. The slabs are connected using a series of cables. Cushions placed between the slabs prevent damage to the slabs during use. In practice, the interconnected slabs are towed to a position in the anticipated path of a hurricane. Once the interconnected slabs are positioned at a pre-determined location within the hurricane, they are maneuvered with the hurricane such their position remains generally fixed relative to the hurricane. The slabs form a partial barrier between the ocean and atmosphere thereby interfering with the critical mechanics, namely the rise of warm, moist air, of hurricane formation. The interconnected slabs are maneuvered with the hurricane for extended time periods such that they constantly disrupt the mechanics of hurricane formation.

  • Patent number: 7575236
Abstract: A method of conducting a wagering game is disclosed. Players may place wagers on a designated player's hand or a banker's/dealer's hand. Once wagers are placed, the designated player and a banker/dealer are each dealt two cards. A point value is established for the two cards based on a scoring system wherein aces count as one point, tens and face cards count as zero points and twos through nine count as their face value. The point values of the player's hand and the banker's/dealer's hand are then compared to determine a winner based on which hand is nearest to nine. For two digit hand values, only the one's digit is used. Winning wagers are paid at 1 to 1 odds. Should a tie outcome occur, all players pay a commission on their wagers whether on the player's hand or the banker's/dealer's hand. In an alternative version, each player plays individually against a banker/dealer.

  • Patent number: 7520509
Abstract: Disclosed is a card game wherein payouts are based on a maximum number of matching suits in a player's hand. Players have the option to choose the size of their hand at the outset of the game. In one live version, once players select their hand size and place their wagers, dealers deal each player two cards. Additional cards are dealt as common cards. Alternatively, players may be dealt all cards directly. Players are paid based on one of multiple pay tables depending on the maximum number of cards which have identical suits in their hand. The greater the number of identical suits in the hand, the greater the payout. Jackpots, including progressive jackpots, based on poker rankings may also be implemented. In a second live version, players may place six wagers on hands having from two to five cards. In this version, players receive four cards which may be used in combination with a single common card. Electronic gaming devices may also facilitate video versions of the game.

  • Patent number: 6896264
Abstract: A wagering game utilizing a table game layout and multiple dice is disclosed. The game allows players to place wagers on whether the sum of multiple rolled dice will be higher or lower than a preestablished value. When using two dice the preestablished value is seven. The “higher” or “lower” wagers are based on two consecutive rolls of the dice. In other words, the “higher” and “lower” wagers are won if the sum of the two dice on two consecutive rolls is above seven or falls below seven, respectively. For example, successive rolls of eleven and twelve result in a winning “higher” wager. Larger payouts are associated with winning “higher” or “lower” wagers predicated on two consecutive identical sums. Players may also wager on single roll outcomes. Such single roll outcomes include a seven/eleven, two/three and eleven/twelve wager. The game is also implementable in an electronic version.
