    Abstract: A biometric payment and identification system includes a vending machine, a biometric reader device communicating with the vending machine, a biometric information database communicating with the biometric reader device and checking software supporting the biometric information database and communicating with the vending machine. The biometric information database is adapted to electronically store biometric information of potential buyers of products contained in the vending machine. The checking software is adapted to authorize dispensing of products from the vending machine by matching biometric information obtained from the customer using the biometric reader device with the biometric information stored in the biometric information database.
