Abstract: The method is based on the use of expression vectors coding for the sense and anti-sense mRNA of the Phase I drug biotransformation enzymes showing a greatest variability in humans for transforming cells expressing reductase activity. Such vectors can modulate (increase or decrease) the individualised expression of an enzyme without affecting the other enzymes. This singular cell model can reproduce in vitro the metabolic idiosyncrasy of humans. It is applicable in the study of development of new drugs, specifically in the study of metabolism, potential idiosyncratic hepatotoxicity, medicament interactions, etc., of new drugs.

Abstract: A wall molding has two grooves formed on opposite sides for receiving wall panels or interchangeable molding attachments. The body of the molding has a rear surface with grooves that engage a track attached to the wall. The molding also has a front surface with a decorative pattern formed thereon. Wall panels may be inserted into the grooves, thereby providing a smooth transition from wall panel surface to the other. In addition, an attachment may be inserted into one of the grooves and a wall panel in the other to provide an elegant transition between two wall surfaces that have different thicknesses.

Abstract: Oriented strand board (OSB), comprising a core layer and two face layers, whereby the face layers comprise an adhesive composition, wherein the adhesive composition in at least one of the face layers comprises a resin composition comprising melamine, formaldehyde, optionally urea and aromatic hydroxyl compounds, wherein the molar ratio of melamine to formaldehyde is 1:0.8-4.0, the molar ratio of melamine to urea is 1:0-2.0 and the molar ratio of melamine to aromatic hydroxyl compounds is 1:0-2.0. In a preferred embodiment, both the face layers and the core layer comprise the said adhesive composition. The OSB's according to the invention can meet the OSB/3 and even the OSB/4 requirements in the EN 300 standards.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus and software products are described for design-time data-assignment techniques for hierarchical memories, e.g., multi-banked memories in an essentially digital system as well as methods, apparatus and software products for run-time memory management techniques of such a system. Memory assignment techniques are described for assigning data to a hierarchical memory particularly for multi-tasked applications where data of dynamically created/deleted tasks is allocated at run-time. The energy consumption of hierarchical memories such as multi-banked memories depends largely on how data is assigned to the memory banks. Methods, apparatus and software products are described for design-time data-assignment techniques for hierarchical memories, e.g., multi-banked memories in an essentially digital system which improve a cost function such as energy consumption.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a synthetic fireplace log and a process for making a synthetic fireplace log which is adapted to utilize wood derivative materials, such as wood chips, sawdust or virtually any wood-based product, such as paper and cardboard. The wood derivative materials are molded into a desired shape and held together with a non-petroleum based binder to form a synthetic fireplace log. In order to increase the flammability of the log, the synthetic fireplace log may optionally be sprayed or soaked with either a petroleum or non-petroleum-based flammability agent. Even though a petroleum-based flammability agent is used for soaking and/or spraying the synthetic log, the off-gassing is minimized since the petroleum-based spray is burned off relatively quickly. In other embodiments of the invention, a non-petroleum-based flammability agent is utilized. Suitable non-petroleum-based flammability agents include, for example, vegetable oil, corn oil, soybean oil, granola oil, and lard.
