  • Publication number: 20230235232
Abstract: A method of hydrocarbon reclamation utilizing an automated, closed-loop hydrocarbon reclamation system controlled by an operating system. Hydrocarbon is removed from hydrocarbon-fouled substrate by flowing a slurry through a series of chemical and mechanical processes and selectively recycling fluid throughout the system for continuous operation.

  • Patent number: 9843967
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system to help manage latency and reduce unnecessary signaling in setup of fallback communications, such as circuit switched fallback calls for instance, by taking into account the load in various fallback coverage areas. When the load of a fallback coverage area is threshold high, signaling may pass to a serving network to cause that fallback coverage area to be filtered out of a list of fallback coverage areas that a base station of the serving network would provide to a served device, so as to help avoid having the device scan for coverage of that fallback coverage area.

  • Patent number: 9681411
Abstract: A method is disclosed to help register a UE with a different network in the event of an unsuccessful registration with a fallback network. In accordance with the disclosure, a UE may be registered on a first network and may then seek to register with a second network via the first network. The first network may attempt to register the UE with the second network, but the attempt to register the UE with the second network may ultimately fail. In response to such failure, the first network may discontinue providing service to the UE. Discontinuing the providing of service to the UE on the first network may result in the UE seeking to register directly with the second network or with a different network. By registering directly with the second network, or a different network, the UE may be able to initiate and/or receive voice calls via that network.

  • Patent number: 9258748
Abstract: Systems, methods, and software for handling circuit switch fallback (CSFB) communications are provided herein. A method of operating a wireless communication device includes wirelessly registering with the first communication network to receive a wireless data service, and after the registration with the first communication network with an enabled CSFB configuration, wirelessly registering with a second wireless communication network to receive a wireless circuit switched voice service. The method also includes identifying a service problem with the second wireless communication network, and in response, de-registering from the first wireless communication network and disabling the CSFB configuration. The method includes, after disabling the CSFB configuration, re-registering with the first wireless communication network to receive the wireless data service.

  • Patent number: 9253747
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and corresponding system for managing CSFB pre-registration. A first network serving a UE releases the UE from being served by the first network and redirects the UE to transition from being served by the first network to being served by a second network. The first network then detects that the UE has returned to be served by the first network. In response to detecting the return of the UE, and based on the previous releasing and redirecting of the UE, the first network then initiates a pre-registration of the UE with the second network to inform the second network that the UE is now reachable via the first network.

  • Patent number: 9226210
Abstract: A method and system to help manage latency in setup of fallback communications, such as circuit switched fallback calls for instance, by taking into account the load on various fallback carriers. When a first network is serving a device and engages in a process to facilitate setup of a communication for the device to be served by a second, fallback network, the first network will work with the second network to determine which local carriers of the second network are least loaded, and the first network will then direct the WCD to scan those determined least-loaded carriers in particular. This process may thus help to avoid having the WCD spend time scanning local carriers of the second network that the second network is unlikely to assign in any event due to loading.

  • Patent number: 8140339
Abstract: A sign language recognition apparatus and method is provided for translating hand gestures into speech or written text. The apparatus includes a number of sensors on the hand, arm and shoulder to measure dynamic and static gestures. The sensors are connected to a microprocessor to search a library of gestures and generate output signals that can then be used to produce a synthesized voice or written text. The apparatus includes sensors such as accelerometers on the fingers and thumb and two accelerometers on the back of the hand to detect motion and orientation of the hand. Sensors are also provided on the back of the hand or wrist to detect forearm rotation, an angle sensor to detect flexing of the elbow, two sensors on the upper arm to detect arm elevation and rotation, and a sensor on the upper arm to detect arm twist. The sensors transmit the data to the microprocessor to determine the shape, position and orientation of the hand relative to the body of the user.
