Abstract: An apparatus for cutting peripheral teeth in a pattern wheel blank for use as a pattern wheel on a textile knitting machine includes a base on which a driven cutting blade is affixed and on which a carriage is reciprocable toward and away from the cutting blade. The pattern wheel blank is mounted on the carriage for movement therewith into and out of cutting engagement with the blade and is incrementally indexable for cutting engagement therewith at plural locations about the pattern wheel blank periphery. Electrical control circuitry enables the extent of each reciprocal movement of the carriage to be selectively varied to either permit or prevent cutting engagement between the pattern wheel blank and the cutting blade at each peripheral location on the pattern wheel blank.
