  • Patent number: 4879667
Abstract: A process for generating a data structure of a computer model of a processed workpiece. The contours of the workpiece and the cross section of the tool, as well as the path movement of the tool, are analyzed in a grid such as is presented by a raster picture screen and associated image point memory of a microprocessor controlled graphic control unit of a numerically controlled machine tool. At each point of the coordinated grids the height of the workpiece is linked with the programmed processing depth of the tool and in this way the altered data structure of the workpiece is determined. The altered data structure can serve for the representation of the computer model thus determined on a picture screen. The linkage of the data from grid point to grid point is thus reduced to a number comparison for the Z coordinate, thereby maintaining both computer and apparatus capital expenses at a low level.

The molding materials and sheets further comprise another polymer or polymer blend having a glass transition temperature greater than 30.degree. C., preferably greater than 40.degree. C., which is compatible with the vinyl chloride graft polymer. If necessary, additional fillers, processing agents and other conventional additives may be included, so long as 28-44.9% by weight, preferably 30-44.8% by weight, of the vinyl chloride polymer grafted with acrylate is present and 55.1-72% by weight, preferably 55.2-70% by weight, of the other polymer or polymer blend is present.

  • Patent number: 4721952
Abstract: A process for the perspective representation of objects on the picture screen of a numerically controlled machine tool is described in which the object is resolved into a series of sections which are represented successively with a given perspective offset. In order to avoid the representation of covered edges of these sections, the contours of the individual section surfaces are checked prior to being represented in order to determine whether or not they overlap a previously represented contour. This checking occurs through a simple coordinate comparison, taking into account the actual perspective shift between sections.

  • Patent number: 4644666
Abstract: In the method for drying moist agricultural products, the relative humidity of fresh air inducted from the environment is reduced by heating it so that the fresh air can take up moisture from the products to be dried. A portion of the thermal energy contained in the moist exhaust air is extracted by the evaporator of a heat pump before the moist exhaust air exits to the environment. At temperature below 10.degree. C. a portion of the moist exhaust air is mixed with the cold fresh air before being heated by the condenser of the heat pump.

  • Patent number: 4524918
Abstract: A filament winder of the automatic exchange type in which chucks are brought successively into winding positions relative to a friction drive roller and thread is transferred from a package on an outgoing chuck to a bobbin on an incomming chuck. Each chuck moves along its own predetermined path towards and away from the friction drive roller. A free thread length is created between the friction drive roller and the outgoing chuck and this free thread length is intercepted by thread catching means on the incoming chuck.

  • Patent number: 4311914
Abstract: The differences between the scanned values of corresponding image points of a specimen and an original are formed by point-by-point scanning and comparison with an original. The difference values are subjected to a tone or shade correction, and then a weighting process and a minimum threshold correction. In the shade or tone correction, a mean value formed from the difference values in a specific surrounding area of the associated image point is subtracted from each difference value. The weighting process is effected individually for each image point and results in systematic errors and critical image zones not producing faulty assessments. The weighting factors are determined by statistical analysis of specimens which are assessed as good visually. The minimum threshold correction eleminates all those pre-treated difference values which are below a certain minimum threshold.

  • Patent number: 4143279
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting printing faults or errors in a sample of printed material, such as a bank note, by determining the relative positions of corresponding text on the sample and each of a number of original bank notes, each having been printed by a different printing process used in printing the sample combining the text of the originals optically or electronically taking into account the positions of the text in the originals relative to the text on the sample resulting from superimposition of the text produced by each of the printing process used to produce each original, and comparing the text of the sample with the total combined text. The relative positions of corresponding text on the sample and originals is determined by scanning the sample and originals and obtaining reflectances values at each of a number of corresponding raster points and correlating the corresponding reflectance values to obtaining the relative position values.

  • Patent number: 4044333
Abstract: A data processing switching system is disclosed including system units comprising processing units and memory banks and at least one storage input/output control governing the information traffic between the processing units and the memory banks via communication channels. The system contains an input control and an output control establishing links for the traffic. A plurality of communication paths for the information traffic is governed by these controls, the controls being characterized by means for grouping the processing units (VE) and the memory banks (SB) into a plurality of groups in number equal to the number of the communication paths currently available for seizure between the processing units and the memory banks or between the memory banks and the processing units. The processing units and memory banks include means for sending input or output requests to said input or output control, respectively.

  • Patent number: 3978327
Abstract: A program controlled data processor particularly useful in data transmission systems is described. In this system the central processing units communicate with central storage units, which receive all data and programs for carrying out switching functions. In order to increase the operational reliability at least two identically constructed storage units and/or at least two identically constructed processing units can be connected to operate in parallel performing the same functions concurrently and synchronously. The bits of information supplied by the parallel system units are compared and in case of malfunction or disturbance the transfer of information is inhibited. Comparator circuits are provided which can be selectively connected to any of the system units which are to be connected in parallel.
