  • Patent number: 6824211
Abstract: A head restraint of a vehicle seat has at least one elastically deformable container integrated therein. The container is at least partially filled with filling bodies and gas. An abrupt evacuation of the gas in the event of a crash changes the collision impact characteristics of the head restraint.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 26, 2001
Date of Patent: November 30, 2004
    Assignee: DaimlerChrysler AG
Inventors: Franz Josef Bayer, Matthias Nohr

  • Patent number: 6244625
Abstract: An energy absorber having an essentially air-tight covering which surrounds a filling material and is provided with at least one feed line. In order to improve the absorption characteristics, the feed line is connected to a vacuum source and the energy absorber is coupled with a valve device as well as with a pre-crash sensor system.

  • Patent number: 6062355
Abstract: An energy-absorbing device, particularly for rolling stock to provide protection therefor when potentially damaging impact occurs, includes first and second tubular elements which are fitted into one another and which are of unlike material.

  • Patent number: 5996838
Abstract: A vending machine including a housing with one or more assembly units and one or more stacking shafts positioned in the housing. The assembly unit include a plurality of product dispensing coils for stacking and dispensing product horizontally. The stacking shaft stacking and dispensing products vertically, especially beverage containers. A support structure extends over a horizontal width of the housing and supports the assembly units and the stacking shafts in horizontally adjacent positions.

  • Patent number: 5921365
Abstract: A pressure plate assembly comprises a housing and a pressure plate that is axially movably arranged therein. A diaphragm spring is positioned between the housing and the pressure plate and rests on the pressure plate via a wear compensation device. A clearance indicator with a wear detection section is inserted through an opening in the pressure plate. The clearance indicator also includes an activating lever section 30 that interacts with the wear compensation device to compensate for wear that has occurred on friction linings during operation. The clearance indicator is biased by a spring part in a friction clamp seat in the opening or a clamping seat section. The spring part produces a force substantially orthogonal relative to a rotational axis A in a radially outward direction.

  • Patent number: 4768680
Abstract: A dispensing unit with a pair of product containing shaft for bottles or cans, can dispense two different types of product per shaft pair and has a high storage capacity while being compactly built. To this end a common element is assigned to a shaft pair which element can be rotated from a resting position, selectively to the right or left.

  • Patent number: 4441628
Abstract: In a trap door chute for vending machines, doors are pivotably mounted to sidewalls of the machine, in a certain trap door chute division. Each door supports itself in its merchandise storing position by a finger on an electric detention member. Along one chute wall extends at least one vertical track, along which a carriage with a cam for the deflection of the detention member is movably guided. A lifting bar extends parallel to the track and has a row of teeth whose spacing corresponds to the smallest trap door chute division. The carriage supports itself on the row of teeth via a stepping pawl. A stop is provided on the carriage, with which it rests on one of the detention members. The detention members are tines of a rake made of a spring material.
