  • Patent number: 10934126
Abstract: A textile machine assembly includes a delivery unit and a receiving unit, wherein during operation of the textile machine assembly the delivery unit delivers a sliver to the receiving unit. A sliver storage unit is operatively configured between the delivery unit and the receiving unit to store, at least intermittently, excess sliver between the delivery unit and the receiving unit when a delivery speed of the sliver at the delivery unit is higher than a receiving speed of the sliver at the receiving unit, and to release the stored sliver when the receiving speed of the sliver at the receiving unit is higher than the delivery speed of the sliver at the delivery unit. The sliver storage unit includes a diverting unit that is movable with respect to the delivery unit or the receiving unit, wherein movement of the diverting unit changes a sliver path of the sliver from the delivery unit to the receiving unit.

  • Publication number: 20020094376
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method and devices for producing flexible sheeting including a screened hot-melt adhesive coating wherein said sheeting is based on wovens, knits or non-wovens as mainly employed in garment setting inlays. The coating is accomplished with a paste forming a barrier layer, the imprint of which is powdered with the hot-melt adhesive powder. Excess powder not adhering to the imprint screen is removed by blower/suction means prior to the coating being dried and sintered.

  • Patent number: 5759626
Abstract: This invention describes a process and an apparatus for the raster-formed coating of web-shaped flexible flat articles (3) with hot-melt adhesives in a screen printing process by filling all perforations of a rotary screen printing stencil (1) by means of an outer blade (6) with a solution or dispersion of a paste (2), by placing the flat article (2) on the rotary screen printing stencil (1) and by subsequently additionally applying a paste (5) by means of an inner blade (4). On the finished product, paste (2) produces a plastic base layer which is not or only slightly capable of thermal activation and paste (5) produces a hot-melt adhesive top layer which is easily capable of being thermally activated. Following the drying and sintering of the double-layered printed flat article (8), it can be used as an attachable inlay material for items of clothing.

  • Patent number: 5569348
Abstract: This invention describes a method for the raster-pattern coating of fabrics with hot melt adhesives by application of hot melt adhesive layer (1) on an intermediate carrier (12, 14) and by transfer of the hot melt adhesive layer (16) from the intermediate carrier (12, 14) to a final support (18), especially lining material, wherein the hot melt adhesive-containing layer (16) on the intermediate carrier (12, 14) is provided with a further layer (8) which results in the adhesion to the final support. Also, a fabric (38) obtainable through this method is described. Such a fabric can be used as a fixable liner material, especially in outerwear.

  • Patent number: 5153064
Abstract: The invention describes a hot-melt adhesive substance for the coating of fabrics, especially of lining materials of outer wear, comprising a hot-melt adhesive paste on a copolyester basis as the base layer and a covering layer of a hot-melt adhesive. The inventive hot-melt adhesive substance is characterized in that the hot-melt adhesive paste of the base layer contains a mixture of copolyester and low-pressure polyethylene. The covering layer of hot-melt adhesive preferably contains copolyamide. When using the inventive hot-melt adhesive substance, a raster-pattern coated fabric can be obtained in which the hot-melt adhesive substance has substantially improved adhesive strength as well as a high degree of washing and cleaning stability.

  • Patent number: 5101759
Abstract: Method and device for forming grid-like coatings on web-like flexible planar structures and manufactured products thereof. The invention relates to a method and device for forming grid-like coatings on web-like flexible planar structures with fusion adhesives in the powder gravure method by spreading fusion adhesive powder in the depressions of a rotating gravure roller (1) and transferring the gravure powder fillings onto the planar structure (8) with the use of a rotating heater roller (5) pressed onto the gravure roller. The invention is based on the object of so configuring a method and a device of this type that without additional expenditure they prevent the necessity for using additional web-like carrier strips for transferring the raster-like coating from the gravure roller onto the surface construction finally to be coated.

  • Patent number: 4655868
Abstract: The invention concerns a top cloth, especially a top cloth cut for clothes, which top cloth or cut is coated on one side with a patterned coating serving to stabilize it. Inventively this coating comprises a lower adhesive layer (2) of patterned heat-sealable plastics elements which are not interconnected and which adhere to the back of said top cloth or cut (1), and an upper covering layer (3) of non-hot sealable or substantially non-hot sealable material. The covering layer can extend substantially or fairly continuously, i.e. pattern-free, over the lower patterned adhesive layer and optionally beyond it and can in its areas between the pattern points of the lower layer not adhere to the top cloth or only slightly adhere thereto, while being easily wiped off. But it can also be directly patterned and congruent with the adhesive pattern beneath it. The invention concerns a process for the manufacture of such a top cloth and a transfer unit for implementing said process.

  • Patent number: 4602057
Abstract: The invention concerns a heat-sealing adhesive on the basis of copolyamides for the coating of fabrics, and especially of linings for outerwear. The invention consists of the fact that this heat-sealing adhesive contains from 0.3 to 15% by weight, preferably 0.7 to 12% by weight, of behenic acid. Thereby a substantially and unexpectedly increased adhesion strength of the adhesive is attained, so that for the same adhesive strength a smaller amount of the heat-sealing adhesive is required. This improves the comfort provided by the article of clothing when being worn. The invention also concerns a process for the manufacture of this heat-sealing adhesive as well as its use for the coating of lining fabrics.

  • Patent number: 4504517
Abstract: A process for the reinforcement of flexible flat parts, especially top cloths for articles of clothing or linings for such articles, in which process said flat parts are first printed on one side with an aqueous crosslinkable dispersion paste by the photogravure printing process and then are electrostatically flocked preferably with fibrous flocks, the flocks adhering to the paste, whereupon the paste is caused to undergo a condensation reaction after prestabilizing it by heat coagulation or by predrying, while said condensation reaction is performed with substantial exclusion of incoming air, under pressure and in the temperature range from 90.degree. to 175.degree. C. The process is simple, fast to complete, and leads to non-yellowed products.

  • Patent number: 4471692
Abstract: A device for the printing of flexible flat parts such as cuts or single parts of fabrics, wefts, fleeces, leather, furs or the like with pasty substances in the photogravure printing process. The device has a printing roller to be painted with paste, and a counter-print roller with print gap therebetween. In the area of said gap a group of adjacent yarns runs around a part of the periphery of the printing roller, and is then drawn off above a discharge device for the flat parts from the printing roller. This yarn group is moved at a velocity differing from that of the periphery of the printing roller. It can be moved either in the same or opposite direction as the peripheral motion of the rollers in the area of the printing gap. This makes possible an exact deposit of the printed flat parts on the discharge device and also reduces the paste consumption, with the minimum of constructional costs.

  • Patent number: 4435442
Abstract: In a first operating stage, the back of a face fabric material is imprinted with a flock-binding aqueous cross-linkable dispersion paste in a grid-like manner by an intaglio printing process, flock is electrostatically applied to the paste, and the paste is then pre-stabilized by thermal coagulation and/or pre-drying. In a further operating stage, in which the material is preferably formed into a stack, the paste is cross-linked in a heated chamber at 90 to 140.degree. C.
