Publication number: 20230382009Abstract: In a head assembly for use on a concrete products forming machine (CPM), a framework is configured to be secured to a vertically displaceable compression beam on the CPM. An array of shoes are sized to be fully received within complimentary mold cavities within a mold box of the CPM. An array of plungers are interposed between the framework and array of shoes, with at least a plurality of the plungers of the array secured at one end to the framework and at another end to a single one of the array of shoes. The plurality of plungers are configured with a C-shaped webbing comprised of upper and lower substantially parallel flange pieces connected via a structural upright forming an outside right-angle edge with each of the upper and lower flange pieces.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 30, 2022Publication date: November 30, 2023Inventor: Josef Ott

Publication number: 20230213282Abstract: A method and apparatus for treating a workpiece such as a mold grid includes moving the workpiece laterally along a conveyor assembly into a furnace for heating in a carbon-rich atmosphere to form a heated workpiece. The heated workpiece is then received from the furnace onto the conveyor assembly in an enclosed vestibule whereupon it is clamped under pressure between an overhead mechanical press and the conveyor assembly to form a clamped assembly. The clamped assembly, including a portion of the conveyor, is then lowered into a quenching bath via an elevator assembly until the heated workpiece is quenched, whereupon the clamped assembly is raised out of the bath and the clamping force released. This clamping during quenching acts to maintain the workpiece in a planar orientation while reducing warpage during the quenching process.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 3, 2022Publication date: July 6, 2023Inventor: Josef Ott

Patent number: 9451976Abstract: A medical handle comprises a drive unit and a control device or circuit for driving a medical tool. The control device or circuit comprises a control and/or regulating circuit for controlling and/or regulating the drive unit, the drive unit comprises at least one magnetic element and a sensor system for determining the alignment of the at least one magnetic element. To achieve simpler assembly and a greater resistance to the ambient conditions that prevail during sterilization in comparison with known handles, the sensor system and the control and/or regulating circuit are combined in a joint control module, and the at least one magnetic element is arranged in the medical handle in such a way that at least a part of the control module can be positioned in the immediate vicinity of the at least one magnetic element and that the sensor system is arranged in the control module in such a way that it can be positioned in the immediate vicinity of the at least one magnetic element.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2008Date of Patent: September 27, 2016Assignee: Arthrex, Inc.Inventors: Rainer Schneider, Rainer Schroeck, Walter Pletscher, Josef Ott

Patent number: 8807985Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for forming molded tapered products, such as masonry blocks, whereby high quality finished products are removed from their mold without the need for complex machinery for demolding. The mold may include one or more mold cavities having one or more movable cavity walls. The movable cavity walls may include an end liner having a planar product forming surface capable of moving from a vertical position to an angled position. Tapered products may be formed by moving the mold towards a pallet so that the pallet engages with the end liner and causes the end liner to move from the vertical position to the angled position. Moldable material may then be introduced into the mold cavity and may be allowed to remain in the mold cavity until it is self-sustaining.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2013Date of Patent: August 19, 2014Assignee: Rampf Molds Industries, Inc.Inventor: Josef Ott
