  • Patent number: 5366169
Abstract: There is provided a self-propelled mechanized apparatus for comminuting organic waste material, such as graveyard trash, shrubbery, branches, and municipal and private rottable waste. The apparatus includes a precompression device for precompressing the waste material, which is usually piled up in loose heaps, a comminuting device, and a discharge band, which circulates sideward of the traffic lane of the apparatus for piling up a comminuted waste in stacks.

  • Patent number: 5265811
Abstract: A mobile comminuting arrangement for organic waste materials includes a load space with a mechanically driven scraper floor and a draw-in roller arranged above the scraper floor. The draw-in roller is mounted so as to be vertically adjustable by a rocker member. A comminuting unit is arranged following the draw-in roller in work direction and at a discharge end of the load space. The comminuting unit is a conventional flail-type mulching unit with rotating work shaft and rigid work flails. A roller-shaped driven cutter roller with rigid flail-type tools is arranged in work direction in front of the vertically movable draw-in roller, so that the cutter roller precomminutes the waste material being supplied by the scraper floor. All rotating units are protected toward the top by a continuous, partially articulated hood which forms a continuous feed duct.

  • Patent number: 5127589
Abstract: An implement for mechanically removing and laterally displacing compost or plant material to be composted which is stored in elongated stacks. The implement is used to cut strips from a stack in longitudinal direction and almost simultaneously depositing the cut material in another parallel stack which is laterally offset by at least the width of the implement. The implement includes a frame and an essentially vertically extending cutter roller which is rotatably driven about its longitudinal axis by a motor. A duct located adjacent the cutter roller extends transversely of the travel direction of the implement. An inclined conveyor forms the bottom of the duct. The implement further includes a common main drive with transmission branches to the cutter roller and the inclined conveyor.

  • Patent number: 4417627
Abstract: Apparatus for breaking rock found in soil, such as in a field used for farming, includes a hood-like housing. A work shaft and a drum are positioned under the hood with the work shaft preceding the drum in the normal direction of movement of the apparatus. Flail-like parts are located on the outer surface of the work shaft and travel along a circular path. Prongs are provided on the drum and also move around a circular path. The circular path of the prongs is located lower than the circular path of the flail-like parts and at their closest point the circular paths are approximately tangent to one another where rock or other material is transferred from the prongs to the flail-like parts.
