  • Patent number: 4070526
Abstract: Fluid compositions are disclosed which are useful as coatings on solid substrates. The compositions comprise a mercaptoalkyl-substituted polydiorganosiloxane fluid and a vinyl monomer. The compositions may further comprise a methylvinylpolysiloxane and/or a photosensitizing compound. The compositions, applied and cured on a substrate such as paper, provide improved release of adhesive materials.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 20, 1976
Date of Patent: January 24, 1978
    Assignee: Dow Corning Corporation
Inventors: Joseph A. Colquhoun, Robert E. Kalinowski
  • Patent number: 4057595
Abstract: A method of modifying the physical properties of urethane elastomers so that the properties of the urethane are enhanced. The method involves reacting a specific siloxane-polyoxyalkylene into a urethane elastomer.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 19, 1975
Date of Patent: November 8, 1977
    Assignee: Dow Corning Corporation
Inventors: Lawrence A. Rauner, Joseph A. Colquhoun
  • Patent number: 4052495
Abstract: A method of obtaining release of polyurethane polymers from various substrates is disclosed. Compositions which are specifically described siloxane-polyoxyalkylene copolymers give release properties to cured polyurethane polymers.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 19, 1975
Date of Patent: October 4, 1977
    Assignee: Dow Corning Corporation
Inventors: John G. Uhlmann, Joseph A. Colquhoun
  • Patent number: 4052529
Abstract: Certain polydiorganosiloxane compositions bearing mercaptoalkyl radicals and vinyl radicals are disclosed which cure in the presence of radiation such as ultraviolet light. The compositions consist essentially of a mixture of a triorganosiloxane-endblocked polydiorganosiloxane fluid in which from 1 to 5 percent of the organic radicals are mercaptoalkyl radicals and a methylvinylpolysiloxane. The compositions may be applied to a substrate such as paper and exposed to radiation to prepare a coated substrate that provides premium release of aggressive acrylic adhesives.
