  • Publication number: 20240086180
Abstract: An Internet of Things (IoT) device is deployed with embedded software that may comprise multiple components. After deployment, updated versions of one or more components of the embedded software may become available. The IoT device maintains a manifest of the installed components. Periodically, the IoT device requests an updated copy of the manifest from an upgrade server. The installed manifest and the updated manifest are compared to determine if updated versions of any components are available. If so, the IoT device requests only the components to be updated. Prior to beginning the copying of the upgraded components, an upgrade flag is set. The IoT device then begins copying the received components into memory, replaces the manifest with the updated manifest, and clears the upgrade flag.

  • Publication number: 20220158575
Abstract: Provided is a method of controlling a converter, in particular of a wind turbine, the converter including a first converter portion connected to a generator, a DC-link, and a second converter portion connected to a utility grid. The method including: controlling the first converter portion and the second converter portion by a first control signal and a second control signal, respectively, both being derived based on a requested power signal, in particular requested active power signal, and a generator rotational speed, wherein the first control signal indicates substantially constant generator torque for rotational speed variations of the generator rotational speed above a frequency threshold.

  • Patent number: 9531290
Abstract: A method of controlling a power unit having a plurality of converter modules coupled in parallel, is configured to convert DC into AC voltages or AC into DC voltage. The method includes (a) receiving a control value for each phase of each converter module, (b) obtaining a set of phase current values for each converter module, (c) generating a compensation value for each phase of each converter module based on the set of phase current values and a set of stored data, the set of data representative of non-linearity characteristics of the converter modules as functions of phase current value, (d) generating a compensated control value for each phase of each converter module based on the corresponding control value and compensation value, and (e) supplying the compensated control values to the respective converter modules. A controller, power unit, wind turbine, computer program and computer program product are similarly configured.

  • Publication number: 20150227998
Abstract: An efficient system that embodies a method for securing a transaction for a position of a placeholder in a predetermined line is provided. The system facilitates the orderly exchange of the position in the predetermined line for something of value, such as money, by collecting buyer and seller exchange data of potential trading partners and determining an acceptable match thereof based on, at least in part, the exchange data collected. The exchange data may include buyer and seller (placeholder) information about the positions in the predetermined line that are desired and held, their respective offers for each position, and the time the positions and offers are valid for. The method may be adapted to prompt the potential trading partners of the acceptable match to consummate the transaction in becoming bona fide buyer and seller, and providing at least one mechanism for physically connecting the bona fide buyer and seller to exchange the position in line in accordance with their respective offers.

  • Publication number: 20090104862
Abstract: The combination of an abrasive finishing device and a support member therefor. The support member includes a body having a threaded central opening with a flange at one end thereof. A fastening member having a threaded shaft and flange is permanently affixed to the abrasive finishing article by a resiliently deformable retainer press fitted over the threads on the shaft in such a manner that the flange on the fastening member is disposed entirely below the working surface of the abrasive finishing device. The retainer is a washer shaped member having an inner diameter which is less than the outer diameter of the threaded shaft on the fastening member and grips the thread on the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4960003
Abstract: A transmission comprising an outer hollow stationary casing having first and second open ends, an outer surface and a cylindrical inner surface. The inner surface has a circumferentially extending, uniformly shaped first zigzag groove. A first hollow cylindrical member is rotatably mounted coaxially within the casing and has an axially aligned output shaft which extends outwardly from the second end of the casing. The cylindrical member has a plurality of transversely extending parallel slots extending therethrough which register with the first zigzag groove. A second hollow cylindrical member is rotatably mounted coaxially within the first cylindrical member and has an output connector extending outwardly from the closed end thereof. A circumferentially extending, uniformly shaped second zigzag groove is formed on the outer surface of the second cylindrical member and registers with a portion of each slot.
