    Abstract: A DC-to-AC power converter is disclosed which provides current regulated three-phase AC outputs and very high conversion efficiencies. The converter sinks power from an external DC current source and steers that current directly into two phases of a three-phase load by using complementary semiconductor switches in disparate half-bridges of a six-pole bridge. The steering switch selection rotates every 60° to direct current into the two phases with the largest voltage differential at any given time. The remaining half-bridge acts as a high-frequency, bi-directional current source to balance the three-phase load currents. This topology and control method significantly reduces power conversion losses. The converter may also include an additional power processing stage that is used to convert an external DC voltage source to a DC current source before the three-phase conversion takes place. Prior art converters first convert “soft” DC sources to voltage sources and then to AC current sources.

    Abstract: A hydrocolloid product having improved dispersibility and wettability characteristics in aqueous medium is provided by dry blending in a heated state the hydrocolloid powder particles with molten, normally solid nonionic surfactant. The heated mixing state is at a temperature greater than the melting temperature of the solid nonionic surfactant. After suitable mixing, the resulting mixture of surfactant-coated powder particles is extruded to produce granules of the hydrocolloid-nonionic surfactant mixture, which granules are cooled to below the melting temperature of the nonionic surfactant to provide a readily water dispersible, readily wettable hydrocolloid product.

    Abstract: A waterproof grounding connector is securable to a grounding surface and capable of receiving a plurality of electrical terminals in a sealing relationship. The waterproof grounding connector includes a connector body having opposite first and second ends, and a plurality of parallel longitudinal chambers extending through the connector body. Each chamber is adapted to receive an electrical terminal. A lock means is provided to secure the electrical terminals within the chambers. A hollow, peripheral shroud is located at the second end of the connector body and defines an enclosure having an internal peripheral surface. A flexible grommet with a continuous peripheral edge is adapted to be inserted into the shroud enclosure and creates a continuous peripheral seal between the grommet edge and the internal shroud surface. The grommet includes a plurality of slots which correspond to and align with the chambers.

    Abstract: A glove for use by medical personnel which is adapted to help prevent accidental injuries when handling needles includes a first discrete layer of flexible material which has a pore size smaller than the diameter of a needle. The first layer forms a glove with an optional opening in the fingerprint area of the index finger stall and middle finger stall. The glove also includes a second discrete layer of flexible material which also has a pore size which is smaller than the diameter of a needle. This second layer is permanently attached to selected areas of the first layer. The selected areas comprise all of the thumb stall, and lateral sides of the index finger stall and middle finger stall. Preferably, the fingernail region is not covered by the second layer and backsides of the first distal joint portion of the index and middle finger stall are covered. A V-opening for the back side of the glove includes two distinct fastening devices.
