  • Patent number: 11903368
Abstract: An improved feeding system is provided to permit sequential entry to animals, one at a time, into a feeding station that weighs the animal, and then provides or prevents access to a single feed or feed blend based on body weight or other criteria. It exits each animal if no feed is to be provided, or after feeding for a specified period of time. The system accommodates animals housed in groups and allows individual animals to be fed precisely with minimal labour input. Feed consumption by individual animals is limited by the amount of time they remain in the feeding area of the station and the amount of feed provided to them. The system provides for the ongoing collection of data about the animals' growth, and controls and monitors feed intake and body weight.

  • Publication number: 20230013131
Abstract: A novel shoulder brace that can provide active dynamic support to an injured shoulder while providing the capability to also raise the attached arm and support the arm in an elevated position. The brace can be used both in conjunction with a rehabilitation intervention program to maintain or restore range of motion and strength and to assist in functional tasks at work and at home. The brace works by supporting a locking or ratchet mechanism connected to an arm cuff from a chest piece that, when desired, the user can move the arm connected to an injured shoulder and supported by the arm cuff from a normal side resting position to an elevated position 90 degrees from the resting position while transferring the load created by the arm and whatever the hand is holding back to the chest piece and to the torso of the user. A release mechanism can be used to release the locking or ratchet mechanism to let the user lower their arm back to a resting position.

  • Patent number: 9992984
Abstract: A fishing reel can comprise a lever actuated drag mechanism within a reel housing with a lever projecting from the housing. A fine drag adjuster can be adjusted independently of the lever. The drag mechanism can include plural cams and cam engagers spaced about the periphery of a drag plate. An anti-rotation mechanism can have plural flexure members that engage teeth at the periphery of a dog wheel and at a location closer to the exterior of the reel housing than a spool supporting spindle. The spindle can be supported for axial movement to facilitate fine drag adjustment and can be restricted against rotational motion. A planetary or other handle operated drive mechanism can be used.

  • Patent number: 5357998
Abstract: A fluid conduit safety system which comprises valves at each end of the conduit which are connected by a cable. If the hose ruptures, the valves close preventing discharge of fluid from the fluid supply and discharge of fluid from the container being filled while at the same time the cable prevents the ends of the hose from whipping about and causing damage or injury. Another aspect of the invention relates to a method for stopping the flow of fluid through a conduit which fails which comprises the steps of providing a conduit with a valve at each end and means connecting the valves to each other and disposed in the conduit.
