  • Patent number: 8089167
Abstract: A robotic gravity-powered generator includes two containers, one containing fluid with an inflatable bag and attached weight immersed in the fluid, and the second containing a generator. A pneumatic pump inflates the bag, permitting it to float to the top of the first container; the bag is then deflated, and moves down through the fluid due to the force of gravity. The movement of the bag up and down is converted to rotary force which operates the generator, thereby generating electricity.

  • Publication number: 20090127864
Abstract: A robotic generator that produces electric power and is actuated by the forces of gravity, the Archimedes principle and Faraday's laws of electromagnetic induction. This robotic generator is an ecological automated robot that can be used as a standalone electric power producing machine, the robotic generator can be small in size to supply electric power to a small building or a single family household, or this robotic generator can be made as large size units and can be assembled in multiple large units working together to produce large amounts of electricity. The robot is contained in two boxes, one box is the motive force sealed in a container full of fluids and the second box contains the generator, the gear box, the electronic controls, pneumatic pump, inverter, battery charger and the energy storage in the form of batteries and or fast charging and fast release capacitor bank.

  • Patent number: 5809639
Abstract: An automated component placement apparatus for use in populating circuit boards with electronic components. The apparatus includes a plurality of toolheads for picking up and placing components, a plurality of component feeders, a transport means to move PC boards between PC board assembly areas for placement of components, and a plurality of gantry systems for moving the toolheads between the component supply stations and PC board assembly areas. A plurality of programmable controllers actuates both the toolheads to grip or release components and the gantry systems to move the toolheads between the component supply stations and PC board assembly areas.

  • Patent number: 5810170
Abstract: A component carrier tape which can be molded as an integral member from flexible sheet material. The carrier tape includes a substrate having a plurality of spaced pallet/component-receiving apertures, walls projecting from the substrate and surrounding the apertures, one or more pedestal tabs extending from each wall into the associated aperture and one or more finger tabs extending from each wall into the associated aperture. The pedestal tabs have a sloping pedestal wall and a pedestal edge which extend into the aperture at an angle. The pedestal tabs engage and support a first surface of pallets positioned within the apertures at a pedestal height. The finger tabs extend from the wall into the aperture at a finger tab height which is vertically displaced from the pedestal height, and engage and support a second surface of pallets positioned within the apertures.

  • Patent number: 5727305
Abstract: A programmable pin feeder for use in connection with an automated component assembly system, for providing pin headers from a supply reel containing a continuous carrier strip of the pins. The feeder includes a motor for indexing the carrier strip, a pin removing mechanism for removing pins from the carrier strip, a pin crimping mechanism for crimping pins in the carrier strip, a gripper for releasably gripping the pin headers at a pick-up station, and a cutter for cutting the headers from the carrier strip. A programmable logic controller is responsive to Pin Count, Pin Configuration and Pin Crimping instructions, and actuates the motor, pin removing mechanism, pin crimping mechanism, gripper and cutter as a function of the instructions to provide the desired pin headers.

  • Patent number: 5562384
Abstract: A micro-component feeder assembly supporting small, odd lot or odd shaped components and subassemblies from a sprocket driven tape carrier including seriatim, annular housings having removeable covers and component pallets. The housing walls include fastener portions which support each pallet and cover. One or more components are indexed to pallet apertures, cavities, projections or resilient restraints. Wound tape supply and take-up cartridges mount to a controlled drive housing which includes tape reel drive, tape splice, tape sprocket drive, cover removal, clamp/test and lift and locate assemblies. Full and depleted component tapes cyclically alternate between upper and lower cartridges. A multi-faceted tool head assembly is controlled to a defined pallet presentation and defined component positions at each pallet. A gripper assembly produces a uniform gripping and insertion action of each component.

  • Patent number: 5469332
Abstract: A PC card includes a board assembly enclosed by top and bottom covers. The board assembly includes a PC board with end housings on its opposite ends. A connector is mounted within one of the end housings and electrically interconnected to the PC board. Key-receiving slots extend through the opposite sides of the first and second end housings. Tracks on the opposite sides of the top and bottom covers form keyways extending between the key-receiving slots on the opposite sides of the board assembly. Elongated keys extend through the key-receiving slots of the end housings and through the keyways to secure the top and bottom covers to the board assembly. Releasable latches hold the keys within the keyways.
