  • Patent number: 4936238
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a boat having a self-propelled watertight intermediate propulsion section, a watertight bow section connectable to the front of the intermediate section, a stern section connectable to the rear of said bow and intermediate section and the stern section being watertight and buoyant and having steel flat bar framing outlining the perimeter of their transverse extremities welded to the end of each said section which it abuts. Spaced openings are drilled through the flat bar framing in alignment with each section for being selectively joined by bolts and nuts to make up a boat of variable length of bolted abutting sections.

  • Patent number: 4872781
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a watertight floodable barge repair box of generally L-shape, viewed from its end, having a leg and a foot. The leg has an open front and the foot has an open top so that the box may be placed against the side of the barge and the foot beneath its bottom. A flexible waterproof membrane strip has one edge secured to a flat bar anchoring plate welded to the repair box adjacent its leg and foot openings upset at an angle thereto. A backing of flat rubber conveyor belt is bolted between the waterproof membrane and flat anchoring plate. The waterproof membrane is of a width to overlap the connection between the barge hull and barge repair box when the repair box is in place against the barge in a flooded down condition in a body of water. Cable harness or other suitable lines or chains are used to maintain the barge in place against the repair box.

  • Patent number: 4755112
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a water/air pumping system comprising essentially a substantially flat primary reservoir, a header tank and a pump. At least one reciprocating piston is powered through the tank. Eccentric drive cams are directly connected to the motor driven shaft and are connected to drive the pistons to pump water or air from the reservoir into the tank. A water and or air supply connection is horizontally connected to the reservoir and is provided with a water/air control valve proximate the reservoir. A tank discharge connector is connected to a water or air service system through the side wall of the tank externally thereof, above the motor driven shaft and its direct drive connection with the pistons for lubricating the driving mechanism. An air inlet valve is situated in the external wall of the primary reservoir beneath the piston intake so that the pump may pump either air or water.
