  • Patent number: 11974756
Abstract: Embolic coils with detachable segments that are separated by detachment capsules that are thermolytically degradable such that varying lengths of coil may be implanted into a vascular malformation to occlude same. The capsules are radiotransparent when compared to the adjoining coil segments to the location of the segments is easily seen. The capsules further include protruding electrical contacts that make positive contact with terminals on a delivery catheter. The terminals on the delivery catheter serve as markers so the relationship between the detachment capsules and the terminals is easily visible under x-ray.

  • Publication number: 20240071593
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that provide smart alerts to users, e.g., alerts to users about diabetic states that are only provided when it makes sense to do so, e.g., when the system can predict or estimate that the user is not already cognitively aware of their current condition, e.g., particularly where the current condition is a diabetic state warranting attention. In this way, the alert or alarm is personalized and made particularly effective for that user. Such systems and methods still alert the user when action is necessary, e.g., a bolus or temporary basal rate change, or provide a response to a missed bolus or a need for correction, but do not alert when action is unnecessary, e.g., if the user is already estimated or predicted to be cognitively aware of the diabetic state warranting attention, or if corrective action was already taken.

  • Patent number: 10886775
Abstract: An active multi-module switching (MMS) system provides at least Tier-III level reliability to a data center using a UPS system with only N+1 redundancy. Only one additional UPS module is provided over the total number of UPS modules required to fully power the loads. The active MMS system includes a controller, a control circuit, and a number of distribution units each having electrically operated circuit breakers and sensor components. The active MMS system operates to control the switching components on each of the UPS modules as well as to selectively connect/disconnect individual UPS modules from MMS operation. This allows for disconnection of a UPS module from the critical load bus whenever maintenance on the UPS module is required.

  • Publication number: 20070194874
Abstract: A breakaway transformer base for a lighting pole includes four upstanding corner members (preferably formed of aluminum castings), and four side sheets. Each side sheet is attached to two of the corner members, e.g., by welds or fasteners, thereby interconnecting the corner members. Each corner member forms bolt holes for enabling the base to be bolted to a lighting standard and to an anchored foundation.

  • Publication number: 20060185874
Abstract: A frame for reinforcing a handhole of a round metallic utility pole, includes a generally elliptical body defining a major axis and a minor axis and forming a generally elliptical outer periphery, and a generally elliptical inner periphery bordering an opening extending through front and back sides of the body, the opening defining a center axis of the frame. A flange is formed integrally with the body and projects forwardly therefrom at a location spaced inwardly from the outer periphery, wherein the flange is separated from the outer periphery by a forwardly facing shoulder surface of the body. The flange includes an outer flank facing outwardly and intersecting the shoulder surface, wherein the flange outer flank forms an oblique angle with the center axis as seen in a sectional view taken along the major axis, and lies substantially parallel to the center axis as seen in a sectional view taken along the minor axis.

  • Patent number: 4344065
Abstract: A visual aid for boat skippers to which a skipper inputs information about the relative position of another observed boat and a navigation light color which he observes. The device has a group of input switches each indicating a possible relative position of the second boat. Another group of switches indicates the possible navigation light colors of red, green and white. A display signals whether the input combination of position and lights is a potential collision condition. A collision detecting logic circuit connects the switches to a display for actuating the display in response to actuation of selected combinations of the switches.
