  • Publication number: 20150317226
Abstract: Techniques for detecting data loss during site switchover are disclosed. An example method includes storing at NVRAM of a first node a plurality of operations of a second node, the first and second nodes being disaster recovery partners. The method also includes during a switchover from the second node to the first node, receiving an indication of a first number of operations yet to be completed. The method further includes comparing the first number to a second number of operations in the plurality of operations stored at the NVRAM of the first node. The method also includes in response to the comparing, determining whether at least one operation is missing from the plurality of operations stored in the NVRAM of the first node. The method further includes in response to determining that at least one operation is missing, failing at least one volume.

  • Patent number: 8855980
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to an antenna builder and a method of building and maintaining an antenna design repository. A first embodiment consists of an antenna builder that enables the creation of an antenna representation that can subsequently be output into a plurality of formats to be used by other tools, such as electromagnetic simulation software. An alternative embodiment is directed to a method of building and maintaining a repository of antenna designs. The repository of antenna designs can be queried, enabling a plurality of users to search for specific antenna designs. Alternative embodiments can enable a user to search the repository antenna designs by visually browsing over the antenna designs in the repository. The repository of antenna designs is created by saving solutions generated by an optimizer during an optimization run to the repository. Solutions from the repository can also be used to seed and bootstrap other optimization runs.

  • Publication number: 20140242432
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed include automatically determining alarm threshold settings for monitored battery cells in battery systems. Battery monitoring control units are provided that are configured to initiate battery performance tests (e.g., ohmic tests) on battery cells in a battery system. Failing battery cells are identified as those battery cells having battery performance characteristics outside defined battery performance threshold settings. An initial performance alarm threshold setting is established for each battery cell because of unique performance characteristics that can substantially change during initial charging cycles before the battery cells have settled. A settled performance alarm threshold setting specific to each battery cell is then established based on battery cell performance during the defined settling time period.

  • Patent number: 8655231
Abstract: A toner replenishment apparatus for a dry electrophotographic (EP) printer includes a rotatable transport subsystem in the developer. The subsystem includes an elongated housing with a feed port and various apertures arranged along its length. A channel within the housing receives toner from the toner supply through the feed port. A toner transport member in the channel moves toner received through the feed port to the apertures, and a developer-mixing member attached to the outside of the housing mixes toner and carrier particles in the developer. The toner transport member is stationary or rotates at a different angular velocity than the housing. When the rotation of the transport subsystem brings a selected one of the apertures below the center of the housing, toner passes through the selected aperture into the developer in the sump, and is mixed into the developer by the developer-mixing member as the transport subsystem rotates.

  • Publication number: 20130293995
Abstract: Non-sequential monitoring of battery cells in battery monitoring systems, and related components, systems, and methods are disclosed. In one embodiment, a battery monitoring system control unit is provided. The battery monitoring system control unit is configured to control battery monitoring devices. Each battery monitoring device is configured to be coupled to a subset of battery cells electrically connected in series in a sequential order to form a battery. The battery monitoring system control unit is further configured to instruct the battery monitoring devices to test an ohmic value of each battery cell of the battery cells of the battery in a non-sequential order. In this manner, heat generated in the battery monitoring devices from the testing may be more effectively dissipated, which can also allow for the battery monitoring devices to be employed in higher operating temperature environments.

  • Patent number: 8047004
Abstract: An engine exhaust nozzle comprises a plurality of CMC staves attached to one or more support rings arranged axially. The support rings provide a circumferential load path between the staves and for attaching the exhaust nozzle to the metallic engine components. The staves are fixed to the support rings with a spacing intended to accommodate for relative movement due to the difference in CTE for the CMC and metallic components and due to thermal gradients through the wall thickness. The resulting apparatus is lightweight, relieves the nozzle of thermal stresses, and is easier to manufacture and repair.
