  • Patent number: 11081844
Abstract: An electrical power or electronic data unit is provided for mounting in an isolated work space such as a work pod that is at least partially enclosed by walls or other surfaces. The unit includes a housing body, an electrical power outlet and/or an electronic data connector, and an occupancy sensor that is in communication with a controller. The controller is operable to energize and de-energize a lighting or ventilation system associated with the isolated work space in response to a signal received from the occupancy sensor, and may further be operable to energize and de-energize the power outlet or data connector. Optionally, an environmental sensor is provided with the unit, and is in communication with a building automation system.

  • Patent number: 9048598
Abstract: A low voltage power receptacle assembly is provided for use in a modular electrical system. The receptacle assembly includes a housing that defines an internal cavity for receiving and protecting various high and low voltage electrical components, and for providing convenient access to low voltage power outlets associated therewith. The receptacle assembly houses at least two electrical bus bars that are spaced apart and that conduct line voltage received from a relatively high voltage power input. A low voltage transformer has at least two electrical contacts for engaging the electrical bus bars, and is operable to convert the line voltage to a lower output voltage at the power outlets. An isolator body has a non-conductive wall positioned between the electrical bus bars to maintain electrical isolation thereof.

  • Publication number: 20070197095
Abstract: An electrical connector assembly includes an organizer plate having a plurality apertures for receiving termination devices. Each termination device includes a shield box, an insulator, and a socket contact. The shield box has at least one outwardly extending ground contact element and a latch member. When the termination device is inserted into an aperture of the organizer plate, the latch member on the shield box engages a surface of the organizer plate to prevent withdrawal of the termination device.

  • Publication number: 20070141871
Abstract: An electrical connector assembly for transmitting high speed electrical signals includes a header and a carrier. The header has a plurality of signal pins, a plurality of ground pins, and a supplemental ground contact. The carrier is configured to mate with the header. A plurality of electrical cable terminations are retained by the carrier, and the header and cable terminations are configured such that each of the plurality of electrical cable terminations makes electrical contact with one or more of the signal pins, ground pins, and supplemental ground contact when the header and carrier are in a mated configuration.

  • Publication number: 20060228952
Abstract: A connector assembly includes a connector portion and a frame. The connector portion includes a connector body, a shield member, and a plurality of signal contacts. The connector body is configured for receiving a plurality of cables. The conductive shield member is attached to the connector body and is configured for connection to ground conductors of the plurality of cables. The plurality of signal contacts each have a terminal end configured for connection to a signal conductor of a corresponding cable. The frame is configured for mounting on a printed circuit, and includes at least one conductive portion configured for connection to a ground of the printed circuit. The frame is configured to direct the connector portion into a receiving space at an oblique insertion angle with respect to the printed circuit.

  • Publication number: 20050245133
Abstract: An electrical connector system includes mating header and socket connectors. The header connector includes a plurality of signal pins and a plurality of shield blades. The socket connector including an electrically insulative carrier containing a plurality of electrical cable connectors. Each of the cable connectors comprises an electrically conductive outer housing containing an electrically insulative inner housing. The inner housing holds at least one conductive terminal in electrical isolation from the outer housing for making electrical connection between a cable signal conductor and a signal pin of the header connector. The inner housing includes a cavity for receiving one of the plurality of shield blades of the header connector, and the outer housing includes a contact for electrically coupling with the shield blade.
