  • Publication number: 20060284292
Abstract: For a package structure of chip and the formation thereof, adhesive, conductive and metal layers are positioned on a substrate. The portions of the conductive and metal layers are removed to form multitudes of trenches therethrough, so that the metal layer is divided into chip supporters and conductive nodes isolated or electrical coupled each another. A chip is positioned on each of the chip supporter and electrically coupled to the conductive nodes. A molding compound covers the conductive layer, metal layer and chip. Then the substrate is removed. A dicing process as is applied with each chip or chipset as a unit to form the package structures of chip. There are advantages over improvement of reliability, reduction of package height, improve of level characteristic and heat dissipation, which may be applied to different types of semiconductor package.

  • Publication number: 20060286485
Abstract: The present invention provides a substrate structure and the fabrication method thereof. First, a laminate is provided, wherein there are arranged a conductive layer, or an adhesive layer and a conductive layer on the surface of the laminate from bottom to top. A patterned through hole is formed to penetrate through the conductive layer, or the adhesive layer and the conductive layer. An insulator is formed on the conductive layer to fill up the pattern through hole. A copper is formed on the insulator, wherein there are a plurality of concave holes penetrating through the copper and a portion of the insulator so as to expose a portion of the conductive layer. A conduction layer is formed in those concave holes and the laminate is removed at last to form a basic structure of the substrate. The present invention provides with a quite smooth surface for using in the internal-plane structure of the circuit board and forms a stacking structure that can apply to many different types of the chip package structure.

  • Patent number: 7082007
Abstract: A disc drive includes a transducer having a separate element for writing information and a separate element for reading information to and from the disc. In a disc drive designated to read and write long sequential records, the track misregistration budget is reduced to account for previously written tracks not being encroached on one side. An initial track is written. Subsequent tracks are written after a seek in one direction. The subsequent track is written so that the initially written track is overwritten to one side and leaves a track having a width substantially equal to the width of the read element. Records can be written into data bands of a selected number of tracks. A guard band is left between groups of data bands so that data on tracks in subsequent data bands are not overwritten.

  • Publication number: 20050216528
Abstract: A Web-information-manager instance that makes a change in a collection file on a common storage facility shared with other instances leaves on that common storage facility an indication of a time by which the change was made and a log that identifies the data entities thus changed in that file. While another instance is using an entity object whose contents were copied from an entity in such a collection file, it repeatedly checks a timestamp associated with that file. If it thereby finds that a change has been made since it last checked, also reviews the entity-change log and updates its corresponding entity object if the log reflects a change since it last wrote to that object.

  • Patent number: 6856485
Abstract: A disc drive having a pivot cartridge and an actuator assembly. The actuator assembly consists of an actuator body which has a bore therein to receive the pivot cartridge. The actuator body further consists of an opening which serves as a ledge to engage a biased retaining ring. The biased retaining ring couples onto the pivot cartridge and forces the pivot cartridge to contact against one side of the bore of the actuator body.

  • Patent number: 6765737
Abstract: A disc drive includes a base and a disc rotatably attached to the base. The disc has an inner diameter and an outer diameter and a plurality of tracks. Information is written on the plurality of tracks. The plurality of tracks are written at a variable track pitch. The tracks positioned near the outer diameter are wider in pitch than the tracks positioned near the inner diameter. The plurality of tracks further include a first group of tracks written at a first track pitch, and a second group of tracks written at a second track pitch. The track pitch of each of the first group and the second group of tracks is selected such that the percentage of track misregistration for each group will be substantially the same. This method provides a means to increase storage capacity for a predetermined track misregistration budget.

  • Publication number: 20040095934
Abstract: A packet-forwarding engine (PFE) of a multiprocessor system uses an array of flow classification block (FCB) indices to multicast a packet. Packets are received and buffered in external memory. In one embodiment, when a multicast packet is identified, a bit is set in a packet descriptor and an FCB index is generated and sent with a null-packet to the egress processors which generate multiple descriptors with different indices for each instance of multicasting. All the descriptors may point to the same buffer in the external memory, which stores the multicast packet. A DMA engine reads from the same buffer multiple times and egress processors may access an appropriate transform control block (TCB) index so that the proper headers may be installed on the outgoing packet. The buffer may be released after the last time the packet is read by setting a particular bit of the FCB index.

  • Publication number: 20030223361
Abstract: A virtual routing platform includes a line interface a plurality of virtual routing engines (VREs) to identify packets of different packet flows and perform a hierarchy of metering including at least first and second levels of metering on the packet flows. A first level of metering may be performed on packets of a first packet flow using a first metering control block (MCB). The first level of metering may be one level of metering in a hierarchy of metering levels. A second level of metering on the packets of the first packet flow and packets of a second flow using a second MCB. The second level of metering may be another level of metering in the hierarchy. A cache-lock may be placed on the appropriate MCB prior to performing the level of metering. The first and second MCBs may be data structures stored in a shared memory of the virtual routing platform. The cache-lock may be released after performing the level of metering using the MCB.

  • Patent number: 6606214
Abstract: A disc drive is provided which incorporates a rotatable actuator which is mounted to a base of the disc drive through a pivot mechanism. The actuator positioning is controlled by a servo system and during track following operations, the actuator arm is caused to move. In one embodiment, the servo tracks incorporated in the disc drive are distorted when written in by the injection of a sinusoidal signal. In another form, the disc containing the servo information is caused to rotate about an axis which is offset from the disc axis. A method of creating a servo track is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6476995
Abstract: An HDA includes a base, a disc stack coupled to a spindle rotatably attached to the base by a spindle shaft and spindle bearing. An actuator assembly is pivotally attached to the base at a pivot shaft. Attached to one end of the actuator assembly proximal the disc stack is one or more transducers for reading/writing information from/to the discs. A servo writer includes a controller for moving the actuator during the servo writing process. The controller moves the servo writer at the cage frequency of the spindle bearing to lessen the relative motion between the transducer head and the disc as the servo information is written to the disc. The controller also may be programmed to move the transducer at both the spindle rotation frequency and the cage frequency of the spindle bearing to lessen the relative motion between the transducer and the disc during the servo writing process.

  • Publication number: 20020101688
Abstract: A disc drive having an actuator assembly which includes an actuator arm and having a pivot cartridge which consists of a sleeve, a shaft and a hinge. The hinge is thin and short in the horizontal direction along the x-y plane and long in the vertical direction along the z-axis. The hinge engages the sleeve and the shaft with the ends of the hinge, allowing only the central part of the hinge configured to be flexible. The assembly of the pivot cartridge into the actuator assembly forces the actuator arm to rotate only about the z-axis.
